We breed birds for pet quality. We do not breed for show, color or to get a "new" thing. We hand feed and acclimate our babies to be part of a family, not part of a show. Our birds, young and old, are a part of the family, not a $dollar$ sign. Though we intend to make a profit, as anyone else, we are genuinely more concerned about the birds prospective new home and family environment. We would rather keep the bird here than sell it to any individual that may or may not understand the committment involved with having a pet bird.
I hope I haven't offended anyone, but again, we care more about the birds welfare in the long run than making money.
Rescue birds are birds that have been surrendered to us for one reason or another. Typically we do not breed rescue birds. I will not say it never happens, though it hasn't, I won't say it never will. Birds are surrendered for a number of reasons. If a pair of breeder birds are dropped off to me because of the breeders death (for example) they may continue to breed. However, if a single bird is surrendered that is/was a pet, it will remain a pet.
Rescued or surrendered birds may be adopted back out. My home is not the right enviornment for every bird. If the bird would benefit from being somewhere else, it will go somewhere else.
A bird is often like a small child. Other than you can't cage a child, a bird should be treated like one and cared for and loved like one.
