Hello, my name is Ashlee Hawkes. I raise and show Registered and Commercial Boer Meat Goats (both colored and traditionals) and recently got a registered Texmaster Meat Goat Buck to ad hardyness and more meat to my herd!!! I also have Registered Purebred Dairy Goats (Nubian and Alpine) that I raise and show as well! I am located in Southwest Louisiana.

How the herd got started:

I got my 1st Boer in the Fall of 2003 when a friend of our family that raised goats, gave us a little chocolate paint Boer cross doe kid to bottle feed. We named her Chocolate Chip, butwe just call her "Nanny". She was out of a set of tripplets, and the mother couldn't take care of them.  One of Nanny's sisters had already died, and they were not sure if she would make it. Well, she made it, and grew into a big beautiful doe. When Nanny was old enough to breed, we brought her to a friends house to get bred by their buck. In August of 2005, Nanny had her 1st kid, a traditional buck we named Molasses (Moe for short), becaues it seamed that the 5 months we were waiting for Nanny to kid- it was "Slow as Molasses"!!! Later that winter, I entered Moe in my very 1st goat show, the 2005 Beauregard Parish Livestock Expo in the market wether class.

Since then, my herd has grown quite a bit. I now have several registered Boers and a few registered Dairy Goats. I have done better and better at the shows, winning several Grand and Reserve Grand Champions. I am so proud of my herd!!!

Well, I hope you enjoy looking at my website. Please, fill free to contact me if you have any questions or are interrested in any goats, or even if you just want to talk "goats"!!!

Don't forget to sign the guest book - we'd love to here from you!!!

I thought it was such a beautiful sight with the sand all around, and the ocean in the background, and the pink and purple clouds of the evening sky!
