UPDATE
Spunky, the little 4 mth old puppy below has been killed at the
shelter. Heartbreaking news and unbelievable that this puppy wasn't given any time. A woman tried to pull this dog from the shelter and the puppy was gone already.
That's our CITY SHELTERS!!!.
A696115 Spunky. 4 month old pit puppy. She is going cage batty and she is now pulled out of adoptions! She needs rescue ASAP! Look at that precious face.

Diesal came to us after being found in the Desert. He was found injured by a woman walking her dogs, he was unable to walk so she carried him home and took him to the Vet.

He had an open wound on his leg that was treated, and we were called to Rescue him and put him up for adoption, we were supposed to pick him up on Saturday the 3rd from the Vets office.

There was a miscommunication and he was sent to Lied Animal Shelter on Friday the second.

Saturday we went to pick up from Lied, we met his Foster Dad there and immmediately sent him home with him.

A few days later they shut Lied down.

Diesal was again taken to the Vet after his foster dad found an abscess that had opened and was draining in one of his pads, an obvious injury from walking in the desert, he was diagnosed with Kennel cough and given strong Antibiotics, they thought he had picked that up in the Vets office or Lied.

He had been deteriating all week, loosing a significant amount of weight, no appetite, and his cough was getting rapidly worse, his breathing became labored. We were extremely worried, feared the worst but hoped it was the infection and heavy antibiotics causing him to stop eating.

This morning he was drooling and coughing up blood so he was rushed to vets office again were he was put to sleep due to Disthemper, most likely from his night spent at Lied.

He went to the Rainbow Bridge while being held in the loving arms of his Foster Dad Chris and Lisa.

Please, say a prayer for him and his foster dad who is devestated and had become very attached to him after nursing his health for a couple weeks.

And for all the Animals lives lost due to the disease outbreak at Leid, affected or not, they are gone.

I'm sorry to report that Zero, the severely emaciated dog at Camden County Animal Shelter in NJ has passed away. Zero was unable to overcome his massive obstacles and took his last breath in his loving foster moms arms. While it saddens us at the shelter, we are glad that he knew love for the little time he had left. Any donations made in his name will go to help other sick animals at our shelter. Everyone at CCAS would like to thank you for your time and donations for Zero. Thank you for caring about him. He will be deeply missed.

This is Zero. Please let his story be an lesson to you. If you know anyone who is abusing or mistreating their animal in any way, please report them right away. Please don't let it get to be too late as in the case of Zero.
