METRO DETROIT-WE NEED YOUR HELP ALOT OF PUPPIES
Hello
The Home Fur Ever "No Kill" animal rescue is looking for interested animal loving people to foster some puppies in the Metro Detroit area. Some JACKASS has 2 female dogs that both became pregnant and had their litter of pups. They both had 6 puppies each and the jackass decided to move and take the mothers with him, but left the puppies behind. We are at the Petco in Troy every 1st and 3rd Saturday and the Petco in Novi every 2nd and 4th Saturday with our dogs. These are really cute puppies so I think they may get loving homes pretty quickly. But in the meantime, we need some foster homes for these puppies. If you think you can help contact Marilyn @ 313-897-4931 or by email @ homefurever@comcast.net. Please leave a message if you call, as Marilyn is very busy and usually checks her messages at night. Take a look a these cuties. Please help, our foster homes are already overcrowded.

Honey and Bear were thrown away SO cute. must help them!

Honey and Bear were thrown away by their people. I suppose the people thought that throwing them away at a church was somehow better, but it's the same as throwing them away anywhere really. Lucky for Honey and Bear a kind hearted family found them and brought them here to All Quacked Up. We are told there are several more puppies and that they will try to bring them as well if they can be found again. We believe them to be German Shepard puppies.

These little darlings are maybe 5 or 6 weeks old. We have already wormed Honey and Bear, but now it's time to think about getting those vaccinations started. They have scabbed up scratches on their little bellies. It looks as if they ran through briars or something. I just hope the rest of their brothers and sisters can be found before it's too late!

With vaccinations needed, more mouths to feed, etc.. these little guys need some help. We're doing everything we can on a tight budget. We weren't expecting to take in more dogs until we got a couple of the other adopted out at least, but how could we turn away these sweet babies when they're in such need of help and love? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

HONEY & BEAR

Nay Nay needs a new foster home or adoptive home ASAP

This little girl has become jealous & possessive when her current foster mom would pay attention to her other dogs. She was pulled off death row so we can't give up on her now!!

Marta, the rescuer, feels that Nay Nay needs to be in a single dog household with a patient and experienced dog owner/trainer. She'll need socialization to make her more easily adoptable, or, if you feel you could handle her please contact Marta ASAP-

A donor has kindly offered a $100 donation to a rescue group who will save this darling girl.
I am trying to find out why she was on the original list of dogs from SLA chosen to be sent to the Best Friends Super Adoption but didn't actually make it.
I don't know if it is because she is a little nippy at first...she is blind, deaf and terrified, so it's not surprising. And people would have been mindful that she needs a special person to take her in.
Anyway, she was sweet as sugar as soon as she realized she was not going to be harmed. Look at the photos of her taken with two different people.
The Super Adoption was Chiquita's best--and maybe only-- opportunity to get out of the shelter alive as she would have been saved by a rescue group or Best Friends.
But her chance was nixed by her removal from the list. The decision on which animals are sent to mobile adoption events does not rest with the kennel staff. I know that the ACT staff really wanted her to go, and took a new photo of her for the website after I groomed her.
But she didn't make it onto the truck. So now she needs our prayers and as much help as she can get.
IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO DONATE OR CAN HELP CHIQUITA IN ANY WAY, PLEASE EMAIL ME.
thanx.

When I arrived at the South L.A. shelter yesterday to groom dogs for the Best Friends Super Adoption, Chiquita, a blind, deaf senior cocker, was on the list as one of those scheduled to be sent from the shelter.
Poor Chiquita had been adopted from the shelter as a puppy years ago. Now she was back--blind, deaf, matted, soaked with urine and infested with ticks, her eyes covered in green gunk. And dumped at the age of 8 by her owner to end her life in the place where she began it.
For me, people who do this to their "pets" are the most callous of all. How can they do that to an animal who has been with them its whole life?
In the shelter, Chiquita was curled up in the corner of a cage with a bunch of puppies. Unable to see or hear, stinking and filthy, being eaten alive by ticks, she was a sad, sad sight. A real mess.
When I got her into the grooming room, she was naturally terrified and tried to nip a couple of times--not uncommon with blind, deaf dogs--but once she felt safe, she was fine.
I bathed Chiquita in all-natural flea/tick shampoo and then a regular shampoo. We must have picked about 35 big, fat, gorged ticks off her, and a bunch more little ones fell off, dead.
Chiquita was a very good "client." She just didn't like having her feet and legs touched but I did my best to cut or shave out as many mats as possible on both. And you can see from the photos that she looks much better now.
When I held her head as I dried it with a blowdryer, she nuzzled into me then gave me a lovely kiss. I was so happy. I felt that she felt safe at last.
Then she ate some treats given to her by me and a very nice LAAS volunteer who helped me.
We moved her into her own cage in the puppy room with a nice blankie so she can at least have a little privacy and comfort.
Chiquita was dumped on March 12th so since she was attending the Best Friends event, I was looking forward to her getting out quickly as most of the LAAS animals chosen to attend the Super Adoptions go to rescues at the end.
So I was really disappointed and disheartened when I stopped by the LAAS booth and found out that she hadn't made it onto the truck after all. I have no idea why. I do know that Leslie, the kennel supervisor planned to send her. But, sadly, the final decision doesn't rest with the kennel staff.
So now Chiquita is still stuck at the South L.A. shelter, waiting for some kind soul to take her home and love her for the rest of her life. Unlike her previous owner.
THE SHELTER IS NO PLACE FOR A BLIND, DEAF, SENIOR DOG. SHE NEEDS TO GET OUT ASAP. PLEASE SAVE HER LIFE BEFORE IT ENDS THERE.
Chiquita's impound number is A352806. She is already spayed so can go directly home.
(If you can rescue her, PLEASE don't board her. She needs to be in a foster home.)
Chiquita is at the South L.A. shelter
thanx.
Just need transport from LA to San Diego!

PLEASE save these NJ dogs!! Please REPOST

Please don't let them slip through the cracks. The shelter is getting more and more overcrowded by the day. Please give them a chance!

These dogs shown below are all currently on the URGENT list at Camden County Animal Shelter. Unforutnately, like every other shelter, we receive too many animals and not enough homes. All of their dogs are thoroughly temperment tested and have all passed with flying colors. Please give these very deserving dogs a chance at a life time of happiness. Please don't let them slip through the cracks. Please act fast. If you can't adopt, perhaps you know someone who can or you can foster until they find a furrever home? The shelter is open 6 days a week (closed Tuesdays) and we're open until 8 three nghts a week. Please visit the shelter online at CCASNJ.ORG or in person

MILLIE

Rottweiler,Chesapeake Bay Retriever Mix

Size: Medium
Age: Young
Gender: Female
ID: 40435

Notes: **Update - Millie is breaking our hearts! She is such a loving and affectionate girl and really deserves a chance at a real family. But weeks have passed and no one has come for Millie. Our Shelter is overcrowded and time is running out for this poor girl. Even if you cannot adopt Millie, perhaps you can foster her to give her some more time to find that special family she is longing for! If you are interested in helping Mille, please contact CamCoShelter@yahoo.com. **Original Posting - This Valentine treat is Millie! Millie is a Rottweiler/Chesapeake Bay Retriever mixed breed, who is always happy! Millie is about two years old and wherever she lived before, they did not spend the time or effort to give Millie the basic obedience training every dog needs. Millie is very smart and eager to learn.... We had Millie sitting in about five minutes with some patience and a few cookies! She does have a high toy drive and would do best with an experienced handler! This good girl deserves a second chance with somone who will put her as an important part of their life - The rewards will be endless with a wonderful companion like Mille!

GABBY
Pictures don't do this girl justice! What a beauty!! When you see her in person, she is truely captivating. When you adopt Gabby, she comes with free training with Barkbusters!! You'll be adopting a beautiful, well trained pup! Please, no other dogs or kitties for Gabby
Pit Bull Terrier Mix

Size: Medium
Age: Adult
Gender: Female
ID: 38744

Notes: **Update - Poor Gabby can't seem to find a home where she can be an only child! She's now been with our Shelter for over three months and that is far too long for this lovely lady to be locked away! We have found a private donor who loves Gabby, but cannot adopt her because there are other animals in the home - SO SHE IS FUNDING PROFESSIONAL TRAINING FOR GABBY AT NO COST TO GABBY'S ADOPTERS! That's right - Anyone who adopts Gabby and is local to our area will receive a lifetime of Barkbuster's training already paid for! Gabby deserves a second chance at a loving home - Please help us give Gabby a new life! ***Original Posting - This beautiful red-nosed pitty is Gabby! Gabby is every inch a lady - She is well-mannered and laid-back. Gabby cannot be placed in a home with other dogs and we are recommending that she go to a home with older children, because of her size. But Gabby is all ready to be your true baby - This fine lady should be completely spoiled and loved - After all, she is royalty! Please come meet Gabby in person - She will take your breath away!

ETHAN
Poor Ethan is having a hard time in the kennel. He's too young and active to be in a kennel all day. Can you be the one to save Ethan from his kennel? Please rush to meet him today.

Vizsla Mix

Size: Medium
Age: Young
Gender: Male
ID: 39974

Notes: **Update** Ethan has now been with us for over a month. Some dogs do better than others in the kennel environment and poor Ethan is having a tough time of it. Ethan is simply too young, healhy and active to be locked away, day in and day out. Our volunteers try their best to give him attention but there too few of us and too many dogs. If you cannot adopt Ethan, perhaps you can foster him and be the next step on his journey to a new home! **Original Posting** This handsome young man is Ethan. Ethan is an adorable vizsla mixed breed with wonderful manners. Ethan LOVES treats and will do just about anything if there is a cookie involved! Because Ethan hasn't had the right amount of obediance training yet, we are recommending that he go to a home with children over five. But this sweet guy is smart as a whip and will soon be the envy of the neighborhood! Don't leave this good boy sitting in our Shelter - Come take him home today!

THESE ADORABLE DOGGIES AND PUPPIES WILL BE AT THE PETCO IN NOVI THIS SATURDAY FROM 12:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. WE KEEP GETTING NEW DOGS AND PUPPIES BECAUSE SOME IDIOTS JUST REFUSE TO SPAY/NEUTER THEIR DOGS, AND OF COURSE THEY JUST LET THEM ROAM THE STREETS OF DETROIT TO KEEP ADDING TO THE PET OVERPOPULATION. AS LONG AS WE CAN KEEP FINDING GOOD HOMES TO ADOPT THESE FURRY CRITTERS TOO, WE WILL CONTINUE TO DO OUR BEST AT SAVING THEM.

Dad in Carrollton OH needs a home

German Shepherd Dog Mix

Size: Medium
Age: Adult
Gender: Male
ID:

Notes: His two sons have been adopted, and Dad would like a new home, too! Available for a limited time from the Carroll County Dog Pound, 2185 Kensington Rd. NE, Route 9, Carrollton, Ohio 44615. Located southeast of the Akron/Canton area. Please call the dog warden at 330-627-4244 for further details. The pound is open Monday-Friday, 9-5, except holidays. The adoption fee is $10 for dogs and $14 for puppies and includes the dog license which will be mailed to you. Dogs at the pound are strays and surrenders and are not health or temperament checked. Any dog from any pound can be infected with parvo or other contagious diseases and should be isolated from your pets at home until examined or tested by a vet. The pound does not vaccinate dogs. Young puppies receive a parvo shot. If you adopt a puppy who has been vaccinated it should not be given another parvo vaccination for at least two weeks. For information on parvo, please consult a veterinarian. The breeds listed are only our best guess. The dogs are photographed and posted by volunteers who make no claims as to the temperament, breed, age or sex of any dog listed. Please be respectful to the warden and his staff as it is their cooperation that makes posting these photos possible. Adoptions and rescues are first come, first served. The pound is not able to comply with requests to hold dogs. Thank you. Please check out the ShelterCare banner on our homepage for pet health insurance offers. Spaying and neutering offers your pet many health and behavior benefits and lessens the over population of homeless animals who must be euthanized at shelters!

Pasadena, CA - URGENT RESCUE NEEDED

3-23-07   URGENT

A209388 is a darling 44-pound white and black dog that looks remarkably like a Canaan Dog (though those are very rare) - she is 1 year old female who has been at our shelter since 2/17/07 and has started to deteriorate from being kenneled for so long, and is licking sores on her legs.

She does exhibit some typical Canaan Dog characteristics, in that she is impressively agile, seems highly intelligent with a very expressive face, is "talkative" with rather unique vocalizations, is aloof at first with strangers but positively charming once she gets to know you. She did pass the SAFER test and is available for adoption too.

Please contact Pasadena Humane Society by Friday 3/23 at 4pm. (She would still need to be spayed prior to pickup, but we need to have a rescue or foster commitment by that date... or be adopted!)

Thank you!

Please somebody go save this sweet soul!!

South LA Shelter

DOLLY NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME TO SAVE HER LIFE. PLEASE, DON'T LET HER DIE.

email yep6cats@aol.com if you can help.

"DOLLY" A170827, 11 year female chow
This dog has been at the shelter since Feb 20, 2007.

I absolutely ADORE [this] dog. She is the most gentle of souls who deserves so much better than what life has given her so far.

Dolly was brought into the shelter with the most filthy, matted, disgusting coat. Leslie, the kennel manager, saw Dolly's deplorable, neglected condition and told the owner that he must take Dolly to a groomer to be shaved or else he would be cited. The man took his dog to the groomer and then promptly came back to dump her. No tears, no good byes. He was just happy to be rid of the burden. Imagine what Dolly's life must have been like living with such an insensitive jerk. She must have been so lonely and sad, living 11 long years without anyone who cared about her.

Dolly is a really trooper. She saw what the other dogs were doing and tried to fit in. She slowly trotted up to the front to meet and greet. Poor girl had no clue that nobody would want her. She didn't know that people do not pick plump old dogs, no matter how lovable, sweet and good natured. For a few days in a row, she would just march herself up to say hello--not knowing that there was no way she could compete with the puppies and the younger dogs. I had to admire her spirit but it made me so sad to watch her. Dolly must have figured that since she loves all people, that people love all dogs. WRONG.

I loved Dolly from the minute I saw her sweet little face and soulful loving eyes. I pet her nose through the cage and she wagged her tail. She LOVED being pet and when I left, she let out a soft whimper. She continued to trot up to the front, trying to get somebody to notice her.

Dolly gets it now. She completely and totally understands that nobody wants her. She "gets it" that she has been thrown away and nobody is coming to take her home. She lies at the back of her kennel, sad and curled up in a ball. She does not get up, not even if you call her. She is sick now and has nasal discharge.

We took Dolly out to get pictures and she cheered right up. She wagged her tail, had a little spring in her step and looked at us with such love in her eyes. I am afraid she thought that she had finally been chosen to go home. We took her pics (isn't she CUTE???) and then took her on a little walk. She was SOOO happy to be outside in the sun, smelling the grass and getting lots of love and attention.

It was agony to put her back in her kennel. When I went to see her again, she did not get up. She only stared at me with hopeful eyes that maybe I had come back for her.

SHE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME TO SAVE HER. SHE CANNOT BE BOARDED.

SHE WOULD BE A VERY EASY DOG WHO REQUIRES VERY LITTLE. SHE IS USED TO RECEIVING ABSOLUTELTY NOTHING. JUST A BED OF HER OWN, A PAT ON THE HEAD, A BIT OF LOVE AND SHE WOULD BE SO HAPPY.

Please email yep6cats@aol.com if you can help. She does not have a lot of time left.

Can ANYBODY foster sweet sweet Duke, set for death last night,
I just HAD to save him. I really dont want to put him in another cage,
and honestly cant afford it anyway
(message me if you can send me a donation for these death row doggies)!
CALL SANDI AT 718 502 5346
IF YOU CAN HELP ME, he must leave shelter tuesday the latest.

DUKE is the sweetest damn thing you have ever seen.
This is the only pic I have of him, he is way cuter, but if you look closely
you can see his magical face. Duke is a 3 yr old staff, weighing only 42 lbs,
he is a small dog. He is a NO CONCERN pup, the best behavior score
at the shelter. He is amazingly happy even though he was obviously
mistreated (lots of scars..... ). One of those dogs who was HAPPY to be
at the shelter (only to be sent to death..... until i received a call at midnight last night).

CALL ME AND SAVE DUKE, 718 502 5346...

"EXTREME URGENT"

Sally only has until tomorrow to find a Foster Home!

Can anyone take her for a few weeks until her forever home comes thru?

"Sally the Great Dane and Boxer Mix"

My name is "Sally".

I am sad because I have no place called home.

I am very sweet one year old & I love to snuggle on the

couch and sit on my foster mom's lap. But since I already weigh 70 lbs., maybe I
should go easy on the lap-sitting and play tug and fetch instead. I
love playing!!! I also love people, even little young ones, and other
dogs, too. And I thought I "loved" cats but the humans said that
loving to try to catch them is not the way to show real "love" and they
said I could NOT go into a home with cats. Which is just fine with me.
I just want loving humans and maybe a "brother" to play with -- someone
my size so we could play "Dane games". Oh, and a couch to sit on would
be an extra treat!

I'm spayed, and have had all my shots. (I did have some kind of eye
problem but the vet fixed it while I was asleep and now just get some
stuff put into my eyes when they get red.) I'm pretty good on a leash
and I know how to "sit". I even know "off" and "stay," too (but
sometimes I kind of forget what they mean - I am only one!). I love to
chew things but my foster mom is smart and gets me good things to chew
on so I don't get in trouble.

My rescuers found me a nice family but they decided that I'm "too big"
so now I have to find a home with humans who really like BIG. Please,
would you let me come and live with you? I even come with my own
Sally-sized crate! I will be very good!

I just want someone of my own
to love -- and sit on.

Please email Ginger and tell her you want to either foster or adopt me!

She needs a job to do, she is a working dog.

JOHNNY
Johnny has already had some basic training!!
Boxer Mix

Size: Medium
Age: Young
Gender: Male
ID: 40056

Notes: **Update - We honestly cannot believe that Johnny has been with us for months. This young man is gorgeous and sweet and has had the patience of a saint! Johnny has been training with our own trainer and is doing just terrific - His adopters will receive a consultation with our trainer so that they can continue Johnny's training at home. But our Shelter is overcrowded and time is running out - Please don't let Johnny down - Give him a chance to show you how special he is! **Original Posting - This handsome guy is Johnny! Johnny is a young boxer mixed breed, who is about a year and half old. Johnny is happy, energetic and very loveable! All of the volunteers are crazy about this boy because he is always ready for fun! Because of his age and energy level, we are recommending that Johnny go to a home with children over five and no kitties, please. But Johnny already has some basic training and will be happy to learn more, especially if it involves treats! This guy is way too young and adorable to be sitting at our Shelter - Come in and make him part of your family!

Poor Ethan is having a hard time in the kennel. He's too young and active to be in a kennel all day. Can you be the one to save Ethan from his kennel? Please rush to meet him today

Local Shelter To Close, Euthanize Animals
Dogs Can Still Be Adopted
Reported By Dennis Ferrier

POSTED: 5:56 pm CST March 1, 2007
UPDATED: 9:24 pm CST March 1, 2007

HARTSVILLE, Tenn. -- A mandate at the Trousdale County Animal Shelter could cost the lives of many dogs.
Video: Mandate Could Cost Animals' Lives

On Wednesday, the Forgotten Friends Animal Shelter was open for busines. But on Thursday, employees were locked out of the shelter.

"I've carried the financial burden as long as I can carry it. Weve got to have help from the county. They won't help us. So they took over the building and locked us out. They've penned all those dogs in there, nearly 40-something dogs in 13 pens, just so they can't be seen today. We're scheduled to euthanize them today, but when they found out y'all were coming, they are not doing it today," Tammy Layne, director of the shelter said.

Trousdale County and dogs have a history.

In the winter of 2000, dogs were freezing to death and sticking to the concrete and were jammed into a 10-feet-run. They were fighting, eating food mixed with faeces and trying to drink frozen water.

Layne said in the last four years, she and her friends were able to get the shelter turned around and now discover the county just isn't willing to share any of the burden.

"They're coming in here and KILLING over 40 dogs. There's no call for it. I'm sick. I've been doing this for four years. I've done everything I know to do. I've helped the county. I've saved them thousands and thousands of dollars," she said.

The HEAT HAS BEEN TURNED OFF , and the shelter is to PUT THE DOGS TO DEATH.

Layne said some of the dogs had 2-Week-Old PUPPIES that the county PLANNING TO KILL AS WELL AS some 6-week-old PUPPIES.

Trousdale County Executive Jerry Clift said he would have like to have done more with Forgotten Friends and that the county just doesn't have the tax base to run an expensive state approved shelter.

Several dogs have been adopted and the sheriff said there are about 20 left.

For ADOPTION INFORMATION, call the Trousdale County Sheriff's Department at 615-374-2114

Meet Sully...this guy needs his luck to turn!

07-788

Boy has this boy been through it!
First he was found with a collar horribly embedded in his neck. The person who found him ended up keeping him after he got medical attention for his collar issue. You can still see where the collar had grown into his skin.
Then he unthinkable: his owner's house burnt down and she lost everything, including a place for Sully to stay. Sully is now in need of a new home. Poor guy has seen so much tragedy and is waiting on another lucky break!
I am getting really concerned about this boy who has already been through so much. Surely all of his nine lives are not gone (I know that is for kitties, but......)
He has no interest in him at this time. (3/2)
He is a really great and gentle boy. Smaller than he looks in the pics. Definite medium sized dog (40 lbs) who will gently put his paws up on you for petting.

VERY RESCUE FRIENDLY!

A man called our rescue(Pets Inc, in West Columbia, SC) last week with a pit that he happened to spot abandoned outside of a high kill pound on his way to work. In South Carolina it is manditory that ANY shelter with state funding must euthanize pit bull breeds on arrival to the shelter. Knowing this, the man pulled over and took this georgous boy.

He has become attached. However, due to even further breed discrimination, he is forced to turn him over to us. He lives in an apartment complex. The following is the letter he came home to attatched to his door:

The following is the e-mail that my rescue recieved from this nice man with the info for Tiger:

Here are the pictures of the pit bull that needs a good home. I have given him the name of “Tiger” because the stripes on him resemble a tiger’s stripes. He is super-friendly, and completely non-aggressive to people and dogs (not sure about cats).

He rarely barks; in the three weeks I have had him I have only heard three short, quiet barks. He is completely house-trained, only chews on his toys and does not bother anything that is not given to him. He likes to sleep on the bed and couch, and as you can see by the picture he loves to sleep on his back.

His main drawback is that he does tend to pull hard when walking. He loves raw hide chews, and hard chew toys. Plush animals and rope toys don’t last more than 5 minutes with him before they are shredded. Only toys that are chew proof (Kong toys) are safe for him. He loves to play and run as do most young dogs and he would really benefit from a home with an active family.

He is a GREAT dog and I would not give him up if I did not have to. I am glad that I was able to keep him from getting euthanized by Richland County as he will make a great companion for someone. Someone that likes to run/jog every day would have a great running partner.

If you can help, contact Ashton at myspace.com/sprp

This is Tammy. She is the last of 3 pups brought to the shelter April 2006. She is a great dog. She is very well behaved. She has never had a real home. She knows nothing but the Shelter Life. She is almost a year old and won't be a very big dog at all. She's got a great personality and very resilient. If you think you might be able to give Tammy her very first home please contact PCHS 903-693-2738.

This is Susie. She was recently spayed and will be treated for HW this week as we have finally raised enough funds to treat her. Susie has been very playful since she was spayed. She seems more happy and although in the shelter, she is way better off than where she was. Susie was tied to a tree for 2 yrs with NO DOG HOUSE! She sat through Hurricane Katrina's strong winds and rain and through an almost direct hit from Hurricane Rita. When her owner fed her she only threw out a half opened can and Susie would cut her mouth trying to desperately get her food. If you think you might give Susie the first home with a dog house and lots of lovens please contact 903-693-2738. Susie should probably be the only dog.

Sundae was VERY sad today at the shelter. Her Mom Lady was adopted and so was her sister Queenie. She is the only one awaiting a loving home. She is very playful and likes to chew. She gets along great with other dogs. She has been in the shelter since June 2006 and needs a home ASAP.  Please contact 903-693-2738.

I know that I have asked most everyone that I talk to on a regular basis, but . . . . . . . .

Does anyone have room in their heart and home for a dog?????
He is a beautiful and well behaved black and white pit bull.

http://www.petfinder.com/pet.cgi?action=2&pet=7824567

We adopted him and kept him for a month. He was the best dog I've ever had except for the fact that he wanted to eat our cats. He is COMPLETELY house broken. sits, stays, lay down, shakes and stays off of the furniture. Never pulled on his leash. He never barked (growled once) Absolutely perfect!!!!

When we first went to adopt him he showed no signs of cat aggression. It seems to be only in 'his' space that he has a problem with cats. We talk with trainers and rescue workers and it was going to be much harder to train him to live with our cats than we could handle. (the risk of losing a cat was not worth it to us)

I had to take him back to the shelter after asking everyone that I could. I jumped online and checked out his profile on petfinders today and it broke my heart. Please help find someone to take him home. He truly is the best dog (outside of the wanting to eat or cats of course).
I am uncertain of him and other dogs.

Please pass this along to any 'pit' lover he deserves a good home.

He is at the newport, tennessee animal shelter and is going to be $75.
WELL worth it!!!!! Who has time to train a puppy!

PLEASE LETS HELP THIS MOMMA SHE'S GOT A BRIEF EXTENTION
AND TOMORROW MORNING COULD BE HER LAST DAY!

We have also found a rescue to take the pregnant black lab at Rockdale
(who is scheduled to be gassed in about 45minutes!!) Can we raise the funds to
save her too?! She only needs $425 (since she has no babies with her yet)...
We raised an extra $35 for the other 2, so I'll apply that to this black lab's
sponsorship to start us out. The gas chamber is no way for this momma to die. ='(
The $425 sponsorship will cover DHLPP, rabies, bordatella, heartworm test,
Frontline, fecal exam, and a health certificate for the mom-to-be,
extended boarding/quarantine until our transport,
and $100 to be transported to the Northeast.

If you're interested in Chopper:
Email
cmartinez4@kc.rr.com located in Kansas City

URGENT: If you are looking for an average, ho-hum dog,
then don't look at Chopper because he is EXCEPTIONAL!!
Chopper is a GORGEOUS, 1 year old, purebred Pitbull that was reluctantly
surrendered to a local kill shelter by his owner that recently had a change in
living arrangements. Unfortunately this change could not include Chopper.
His owner had a very difficult time emotionally letting Chopper go.
Chopper has been very well cared for and greatly loved, and it definitely
shows. Chopper has an OUTSTANDING personality and LOVES everyone!
His owner said he is great with kids, but does worry about him being in a home
with very small children, only because when Chopper gets to playing,
he might knock a little one down. Chopper's owner also said he is good with
other animals. Chopper weighs 47 pounds and will be neutered before going
to his new home. He is current on all shots and is heartworm negative.
Chopper's owner said if the truth be known, this sweet boy is just a big
SCAREDY CAT! Chopper is extremely affectionate and will just lean all his
weight into you while you give him a good scratching! Chopper must be an
indoor dog where he will be an important part of everyday activities.
This boy wants nothing more than to lavish you with hugs and kisses and
spend every moment with you. Chopper is a special dog looking for
a special owner. If you feel like you can give Chopper the home he deserves,
please contact us IMMEDIATELY.
He could be euthanized as early as 2-16-07!!

Hi doggie lovers - I just wanted to give you an update on the
white pit bull momma and her 8 puppies at the
Merced County Animal Shelter. They need a foster home ASAP.
They are only about 10-12 days old and just opened their eyes last week.
There are 7 little boys and one girl. Pups are chocolate and the little girl
is cream colored. They are great little eaters and are quite fat!
Still, they do not have long in the shelter, not to mention it is a very unhealthy
environment for them. Dana at the shelter tells me the little white momma
is a wonderful sweet momma. She is slight of build and seems to think
she is a lap dog. She has been walked through the kennel and shows no signs
of aggression and is rather timid and submissive. Really need some one to
step in and foster the whole family until pups are weaned and we can find
them homes. Merced Shelter will transport them and will be in Santa Cruz Sunday.
Please contact me for info. Tre@stormrescue.org.
I will be on my honeymoon next week and so,
after Monday, contact:

These beautiful black lab mixes are in the Mahoning Co. pound in
Youngstown, Ohio. They do not keep dogs very long, they are full.
This is the pound that kill with heartstick! These two are the only
ones from last week without a rescue. What's wrong with these dogs?
I think they're gorgeous! They won't last another week, they're on
borrowed time now! Don't wait, if you can help, call the pound &
have your name put on the dog, or email if the pound is closed & then
call as soon as they open. These guys deserve a chance at life,
they're so young and are innocent of any wrong doing.

Adopting a friend When you adopt a dog or puppy from our pound, it will cost
$110 total. In most cases you cannot take the animal home the same day that
you adopt it, or $50 if you want to use your own vet to spay/neuter for out of
state adopters* First you pay us $50 (sorry, we don't take credit cards) &
that covers the de-worming, first shot, and the license. Then we take the dog
to be spayed or neutered at the veterinarians (usually the next day). The
veterinarian also gives the dog its rabies shot. When you pick it up there you
pay $60 and that's it! $110 for a fully vetted new family member! Money can
be sent to paypal:havadumdog@sbcglobal.net & we can pull for you!
Transport was arranged this week to NH, and we can find a way to get the
dog to you! *Out of state adopters and rescuers will be now given the option
of having the vet work done in your area and returning the Spay Neuter proof
to us in a timely manner.*

Terrill Owens

Size: Large

Age: Adult

Gender: Male

ID: Kennel #11,25790
Terrills coloring is the most unique shade of gray I have ever seen
and he's just as smart as he is handsome. He sits when asked and
is eager to learn more. It's not everyday we see such a gorgeous boy.
Terrill is a must have! Terrill is approximately 3 years old and about
60 pounds. He is available for adoption December 28, 2007!
It is unknown if he is good with children, cats or if he is housebroken.
You can pay the adoption fee before then to ensure that he will become
your family member, if not claimed. Due to overcrowding, the shelter will
be forced to euthanize this pet very soon.

For GENERAL INFORMATION about this pet,
Please e-mail:
ddulaney@wac.com
To check on AVAILABILITY of this pet, you MUST call the
shelter at (209) 385-7436. If you can help this dog please call or go
to the Merced County Animal Shelter immediately.

BILLY ONLY HAS 2 WEEKS LEFT!
ALTHOUGH ITS A NO KILL SHELTER,THEY HAVE DEEMED
BILLY A LIABILITY. HE WAS ABUSED(CHASED AND BEATEN
WITH BROOMS) BY HIS PREVIOUS OWNER,& TAUNTED BY
KIDS IN THE NEIBORHOOD. FOR THIS REASON HE IS
AGRESSIVE TOWARDS MALES. SOME MALES, FOR SOME
REASON,HE DOES GET ALONG WITH. HE NEEDS A RESCUE
WHO WILL WORK WITH HIM, A FOSTER, OR A FOREVER
OWNER! HE WOULD BE GREAT FOR A SINGLE FEMALE OR
GIRLS LIVING ALONE. OR EVEN A MALE WHO CAN TEACH
HIM THAT NOT ALL MALES ARE EVIL!PLEASE SAVE HIM.
THE LADY WORKING WITH HIM LOVES IM SO MUCH,SHE'S
WILLING TO PAY ALL OF HIS ADOPTION FEES IF SOMEONE
WILL TAKE HIM!

Buffalo Bill(Billy) -- M/2yrs/chow-border collie mix
Billy is a VERY special boy. He was abused by a male at a young age &
is now very untrusting of them. When he is in a yard, if there is a male
with his backturned and arm over the fence,Billy has
 been known to nip
at them.He also barks &
growls at men from a distance. When he is out
of the yard &
on a leash,he is fine with ANYONE unless they are showing
signs
of aggression towards him(e.i. bowing up and coming towards him
yelling, or approaching with a large object that he thinks they may try to
hit him with). He definatly will need some rehabilitation
towards men. He
would be great for a single woman, & does get along well with other doggies.
He may also be a good dog for a patient man who can be gentle with him &

show him that not all men are bad.
**Reason Billy needs out: Even though Billy is at a no kill shelter,
if he keeps biting at people,he will be demed a "threat" and a "preditor"
which is grounds by state law to be put down.I absolutly LOVE Bill,
he is one of my favorite residence, and I DO not want to see him put down.
I will go out of my way to help anyone who may be interested in rescuing Billy!!!**
