Introduction

The Oromo Community of Ohio was established in September 1999 as a non-profiting organization. At its start, nine Oromos who lived in Columbus, Ohio realized the importance of organization for Oromos in Diaspora and decided to establish association irrespective of their fewness in number. They drafted the by-law for their association and they registered their association with the State of Ohio. That is how this association started growing; at present the association is not only known among the Oromos in America but also known to all Oromos all over the world..

 

Today we members of the Oromo Community of Ohio remember and strength the nine Oromos’ commitment and advance the cause they worked for. Their commitment is driving motor for our commitment that helped us grow day to day to the extent we become good example for other Oromo associations and even other peoples’ communities.
