Highland Road near Lee Drive: mainly during the months of September and October, but occasionally at other times, old ragged dirty Confederate Soldiers can be seen walking in this area. (south of the LSU campus). In 1999 there was an incident where the police where called by a driver because there was an injuried blood covered Confederate Soldier carrying his gun , staggering across the intersection of Highland Road and Lee Drive. The police searched the area and no one was found.
Shreveport....Old Elerbee Road School: This is an old burned-down elementary school where children whose parents were wealthy went to school. Bells and faint screams can be heard at night. See the True Ghost Story page for a first hand account of visiting this school.
Shreveport...Caddo Detention Center: Now a division of Caddo sheriffs department, once the areas maximum security prison. Security guards who were on watch before it was it reopened reported seeing figures walking amongst the corridors, slamming open cell doors shut, and producing cold spots. Some guards claim to have seen headless figures walking in front of security cameras. There are certain areas in the prison that wild nor domesticated animals will not enter, most specters are seen wearing the gray jumpsuits issued to prisoners.
Forbing Railroad Tracks: The track that run through the town of Forbing are said to be haunted by a headless man. Supposedly he was hit by a trian years ago and decapatated. Sometimes at midnight the light of his lantern can be seen as he walks up and down the tracks, looking for his head. Another story says that a bus full of children of children was hit by the train. It is said that if you park your car on the tracks and leave it in gear the children will push your car over the tracks. It is also said that if you stop and sprinkle flour on your car you can see the handprints of children appear in the flour as they push your car over the tracks. This site has provides many different people, myself included, some amazing photographs.
Shreveport....The P Farm (old Caddo Correctional Center): this is an old unused prison that lies deep in the woods, surrounded by a high fence. It is posted as federal property and a very dangerous place to visit, but definetly once of the scarriest places I've visited. The female prison is said to be the most haunted area of the prison, but there are ghosts located throughout the entire prison and it's surrounding grounds. There is a cemetery on the grounds also, located behind the prison, supposedly where some inmates where buried. This place is said the be especially haunted because of the violent beatings of inmates and the deaths that occured there. There are upper and lower levels of the prison. Care must be taken going upstairs due to the many crumbling open stairwells. When visiting there recently, while walking up the stairs the batteries of my flashlights, as well as those of the people who were with me, all died at the same exact time. The batteries of our cameras were suddenly drained as well. Strange noises and unexplained lights within the building were seen. And some amazing photos were taken. If you do decide to visit the P Farm, it is a good idea to have someone drop you off and pick you up. Many people who have parked there cars in the area have had them broken into or stolen. This area is heavily patroled by police and is a high risk place to visit, but worth the trip, if you dare.
Shreveport...Wiches' Bell Tower: also known as the smokestack located near Shreveport Barksdale Highway and Clyde Fant highway. Once was part of King's truck and coach parts. The shop and the barn were burned in the 70's and now all that is left is the smokestack. Supposedly the owner's wife was killed by the caretaker over money. He then tried to escape, but became impalled on the iron fence's gate.
Shreveport...C.E. Byrd Highschool: the school, built in 1925, had a swimming pool at one time but was closed after a highschool teenage girl drown in the pool. a dance studio was built above it. In the "cattacombs" (subbasements) of the school a JROTC instructor commited suicide by shooting himself with a rifle. His ghost continues to haunt the school to this day. Also frequent cold spots are reported.
Shreveport....Taylortown Bell Tower: a bell tower that was once part of a church now stands alone in a pasture off of Hwy 71. Legend is that while waiting for her soon-to-be husband to make it to the church the bride fell down the stairs and to her death. There is also a different version that says when he was late she hung herself in the tower of the church. It is said that at midnight the bells of the tower can be heard as well as screaming.
