Kadyn
Steege's Cleopatra
1999 ASHA Reg.
Sire: Davi Quebec Siboulette, By: Rhyd-Y-Groes Premier King
Dam: Steege's Katie, By: Four L's Black Calypso
The Draft Horse Journal is a good resource for breeders and the winter issue of 2001 is one I'll never forgot. Steege's Lisa was offered for sale by Roger Thoms located in PA and her photo ad had caught my eye. I really liked this mare for a number of reasons and thought she would have made an excellent addition to our showstring and broodmare herd. I had called to inquire about Lisa, but her sale price was quite hefty as she had won many honors. Roger instructed me to call her breeder, Vern Steege of Fredericksburg, Iowa as he thought Lisa had another full sister. So, I did just that.
I aquired Kadyn in early 2002. Since that time, Kadyn has contributed endlessly to our farm. She is a halter horse, hitch horse that drives both single and double, rides, and is producing offspring that is winning in the show ring. Her foals sell easily. We have retained an exciting filly for show purposes and eventually future broodmare.

Kadyn's Pedigree:
Sire: Davi Quebec Siboulette, dark bay, born in 1985
The prefix "Davi Quebec" is easy to identify that this stallion was bred and born in Canada. He was used as the senior herd stallion at Vern Steege's for several years resulting in many good offspring. Our Kadyn is a good representative of the quality he sired. Siboulette threw mostly blacks, but occasionally the bay color.

Paternal Grandsire: Rhyd-Y-Groes Premier King, grey, 17.3HH, 2300 lbs, born in 1966
King was exported from England to Canada in the early 1980s. He was soon thereafter exported to the United States to stand at Fox Valley Farms in Illinois. King was US National Champion in 1982 and 1983. King is sired by the great grey stallion, Alneland Masterpiece. King is still known today as the best grey stallion in North America.

Dam: Steege's Katie, black, born in 1991
Katie was one of Vern Steege's good broodmares that was known for her easy disposition, great breeding record, and good mothering skills. She consistently threw good marked colts that sold easily.
