Hi
Collected our 4 chickens today..Barbara, Trevor, Megatron and Theodore Elliot Watts - guess which one my daughter got to name !! The boys named the others !! Well.. Chickens settled in fine. Love scrapping around in the wood chippings and found a worm .. they all got so excited ! It was fun trying to put them all to bed for the first time but I'm sure it will get quicker !!!!!!! Have taken lots of photos - How do I put them on your site?

email them to kirsty@hensforhomes.co.uk

We had a beginners session with Kirsty back in July and it was brilliant. Really informative and we loved the swallows, goats, horses and dogs and of course the chickens. We cannot recommend Kirsty enough, egg-cellent day gave us loads of confidence. Our chooks are characters and lots of lovely eggs. Thanks Kirsty

on 13/02/2012 in the early hours of the morning, someone jumed our 6ft fence and stole our 3 pekin bantams plus their coop,, these chickens were muched loved members of the family and would get all excited when they heard me coming with their mixed corn in the late afternoon, they also loved their mealworms, the police were informed straight away.

So sorry to read that your hens have been stolen - how crazy! A lot of hassle for not a huge reward, you'd think.

Will be in touch to order a couple more hens to bump up our flock in the next few weeks.

Don't let them get you down!!!

Cool site. I live in Christchurch, New Zealand (home of the mny and on-going earthquakes) and presently farm some birds for charity eggs. I would love to do what you do, any pointers would be much appreciated.
Cheers L.

2 years ago we attended a begginers course, and purchased 4 chickens, Scout, Toyah,Rhode and Jac. Although 2 of them have died the other 2 are healthy and strong! They have not formed a pecking order (good) and all of them are really friendly, they eat from your hand, jump up on to your lap and are friendly to any visitors we receive so all in all, thanks Kirsty!
