Two or three times a year some of the finest jazz musicians in South East England get together and form the Halstead Jazz Club Big Band. A concert by the HJCBB is always entertaining as the band performs some of the most diverse big band music around. There’s bound to be tunes you’ve heard of, there will probably be tunes you find interesting and there will be a lot of tunes that just make you smile!
When you hear the HJCBB;
The HJCBB has become so popular that we are no longer able to perform at the Halstead Jazz Club. On Big Band evenings the club would often be sold out some 40 minutes before the band was due to start playing and some enthusiastic audience members would be outside queueing for up to 2 hours before we were due to start. To enable more people to hear the band we have decided to try some different, larger venues. Smaller ensemble jazz will continue, as usual, on the 2nd Sunday of every month at the Halstead Village Hall. Big Band performances are in addition to the regular programme at the HJC.
