Free the Children
Free the Children is a group started by Craig Kielsburger when he was just 12 years old. He read about child slavery in Pakistan and decided to do something about it.
This wonderful group helps free children from slavery, educates adults about trafficking, and promotes various campaigns that children and adults participate in around the world.
Halloween for Hunger is one of those campaigns. Because kids and teens are collecting donations for their local food banks, they are helping people in their own neighborhoods. This gives them a sense of accomplishment - the idea that they really CAN "do something about it" while teaching them the reality that there are children just like them who go hungry in their own neighborhoods and towns.
