About The Band

Guster was practically a band at the time they became friends at Tufts University in Massachusetts. Ryan Miller, Brian Rosenworcel, and Adam Gardner met during Freshman orientation in 1992. They decided on their band ensemble because they played the instruments they brought along with them in college. They were completely unaware that they would have gone this far. They claim that they didn't have much musical talent when first together at college. They continue to claim that they're not good singers, guitarists, or percussionists. (laughs) Yeah, right. One thing for certain is that they are very humble. Adam, Ryan, and Brian graduated from Tufts in 1995 with degrees in Psychology, Religion, and American Studies.

Their unique and simple sound has attracted fans all around. Volunteers distributed flyers and spread the word about Guster, known as the band's "Rep Program", helped promote the band. To this day they're still very grateful for their fans and keep in touch via Internet. And fans couldn't complain. After graduation, they bought a van and hit the road to perform and promote their band. The relentless touring and "Rep Program" worked.

The band was originally known as Gus, but they changed their name by adding the -ter to make their name more original adn to avoid confusion of other artists under the same name. That simply answers the question of how they came up with the name .You can notice the whince when they're asked that question. How could you blame them? It can be a complicated story. Not to mention that the question is getting quite old.

Their humor, look, music, and live shows reel in and captures the audience of all ages! They'd play in coffeehouses while in college and sell demo tapes for five dollars. And in June 2003, for the Keep It Together release, a reported 45,000 fans attended. They've appeared on late night talk shows and MTV2 numerous amount of times, the CBS 'Early Show', and Austin City Limits. They've toured almost relentlessly and only grow more familiar to the public and media. I predict they'll become a band that will grow to be as commonly known as Britney Spears. (Maybe not...you don't see them having ten hour marriages.) Their tunes are catchy, their music and lyrics are genuine, and unlike a lot of stars, they're down-to-earth.

I hope to see them together for years and years to come, to see what they love to do: be the great and amazing band that they are and always will be.

The band consists of:
