I've been listening to Guster ever since I can remember. I think I was seven or eight years old when I first heard them and they've been my favorite band ever since I really began to sit down and soak in their music. I met them back in 2000 at Michigan State University and I wasn't aware that we were going to actually meet them. It was my 12th birthday present to me from one of my brothers. It is still one of the most memorable and exciting days of my life! I try to see them every once and a while when I get the chance to, and each time I get more and more amazed to their talent. There are very few music artists and bands that can provide an amazing show and sound almost exactly like the album.
Music is very important in my life and Guster has helped me clear out my head when I was going through some really difficult things. I don't want to discuss all the problems that went on, but in the past couple years, their music has given me strength. Music heals me and their music was the one that kept me from "losing it". They've touched me and my family and even my friends. It took a while for my friends to catch onto my style of music, since they were still hooked on Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears (yuck!). Now, I feel proud to hear Guster on the radio and everybody knows that I've liked them for a big chunk of my life. Britney Spears is uncool and finally, Guster is the "cool one".
I cannot even begin to come up with the words that describe how much I appreciate them. I don't think they realize how important they are to the fans. In my case, they're exceptionally important. They're amazing individuals and together they are an amazing and unique band.
