Last year was another nearly year for us. the under 12 footballers got to the county final but were beaten in Wexford Park by Glynn-Barntown. We had beaten them earlier in the league section of the competition. The under 12 hurlers were equally unlucky. They reached the county semi-final without being beaten and were only beaten there by the eventual winners, Ballygarret. The under 14 footballers also reached the county semi-final and again lost out to the eventual winners, OLI/St Fintans. The under twelve panels were rewarded for their efforts at the end of the season with a day's bowling in Waterford, followed by a wonderful feed in Ballycullane Hall and presentation of medals by intercounty stars, Adrian Flynn and Shane Cullen.
Training for the various age groups for the 2007 season is well under way with the minor and juvenile championships having already commenced. Gusserane, like many other clubs, are forced to join forces at these age groups. A special word of congratulations to Cillian Kehoe who is a central figure in Wexford's minor football panel for 2007. Cillian is also underage next year. Hopefully he will be part of a title winning team this year. Great work is still going on at under 8 and under 10 levels in both hurling and football. Gusserane adopted the Go Games system last year and it has been instrumental in getting more and more kids involved and enjoying their games.
