The Road To The Title

Broussard and Sims Productions’ inaugural fight card was greeted by a packed house of screaming fans, Saturday night at the Cajun Dome Convention Center in Lafayette, LA.

Broussard Wins by DQ!

The main event featured hometown hero, “Bad” Chad Broussard (45-3) vs. late sub Lee Cargle (33-93-1). The matchup proved to be as much of a mismatch as the records indicated it would be. Broussard punched and Cargle held the whole fight. Cargle held so much that he was deducted points in rounds 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, and disqualified for holding in round 9 by referee Kenny Saintins. Cargle was also knocked down in round 5 by a Broussard body shot. Finally, in round 9, the referee had seen enough of Cargle’s holding and ended the fight, igniting the packed house of Broussard fans

"Kid Fire" pounds "Action"

In the co-feature bout, Will “Kid Fire” McIntyre (34-3-1) pounded out a 6 round unanimous decision over tough journeyman, Tyrone “Action” Jackson (7-30-2) for the second time in three months. McIntyre won every round on all three judges scorecards, but Jackson weathered the storm and had his moments. At the end of round 4, the fighters had to be separated as they continued to fight long after the bell had sounded.

Leggett Beats Woods in Grudge Match

West Lake, Louisiana’s Chance Leggett (11-3) TKO’d Marcus Woods (4-5), 20 seconds into round 2. In round 1, Leggett unleashed a vicious body shot that forced Woods down to one knee. Woods came back in round 2, but continued to favor his abdomen. Referee Barry Orgeron deemed Woods unable to defend himself, thus stopping the fight.

Marler Edges Lindsey

In a 6 round cruiserweight bout, Hearn Marler (8-2) took a razor thin decision over Shreveport’s Eric Lindsey (3-2). The bout was seemed even going into round 6, but a knockdown and a point deduction for spitting out his mouthpiece by referee Russell Naquin, proved costly for Lindsey, who appeared to be very winded. The judges scorecards read 58-53 across the board.

Ashworth Wins Debut

In the opening bout of the night, Roy Ashworth made an impressive pro debut with a majority decision win over B.B. Blount (1-1). Ashworth used his 8 pound weight advantage to overpower Blount in what was a classic slugfest.
