Martinez TKO’s Broussard in a Shocker
In the shocker of the night: Former world title contender “Bad” Chad Broussard (45-4), Lafayette, LA was TKO’d by little known Moises Martinez (7-11) from Rome, GA. In the 2nd round of their scheduled 6 round bout Broussard was hit with a body shot and took a knee, he never recovered. In round 3 Broussard came out on the attack, but a minute into the round he was caught in the corner, after surviving a barrage of punches from Martinez, Broussard looked over to referee Barry Orgeron and signaled that he was done. Orgeron proceeded to wave off the fight much to the shock of the very pro-Broussard crowd.
After the fight Gulfcoastboxing was able to speak with Martinez’s manager/trainer Lee Fourtune, he said “Before the fight I was working the mits with Moises and it was by far the hardest I’ve ever felt him hit. He does a lot of wood work, which helps him with his power.”

Aucoin and Lacey DRAW
In a rematch of their May 22, 2004 bout, “Bayou Bomber” Bobby Aucoin of Scott, LA (13-0-1) took on Mario Lacey of Mobile, AL (7-6-4). Aucoin had a much tougher time this go around, the first time they fought Aucoin scored 6 round decision, but floored Lacey 2 times in the fight. This time Lacey looked to stay on his feet, and for the first 2 rounds he looked like he was not going to have any trouble in doing so. But in the final 3 rounds, it looked like Aucoin persistent attack slowed Lacey, infact in round 3 Aucoin landed a stright right hand that hurt Lacey, but the bell sounded and he could not finish him. Lacey held on for the final 3 rounds as looked to box, but Lacey’s holding stopped him from doing so. When it was all said and done, the judges card had it an even fight, 58-56 (Aucoin), 57-57, 57-57. Gulfcoastboxing scored the fight 58-56 for Aucoin.
“Kid Fire” McIntyre has to much fire power for Stephens
While sitting in the locker room Anthony Stephens (32-12-2) of Shreveport, LA was hinting around that this may be his last fight, but the thoughts of retirement did nothing to his fight plans. Will “Kid Fire” McIntyre (35-3-1) came into the scheduled 8 round bout the fan favorite and for good reason, Will has been around the Gulf Coast scene for a long time and is one of the most respected fighters in this area, and on this night he would show why. McIntyre has his share of problems in round 1 as Stephens jabbed his way in and landed some clean shots. But, towards the end of round 2 McIntyre landed a flurry of punches that ended with Stephens’s upper body out of the ring. Referee Russell Naquin issued a standing 8 count. It was all McIntyre in rounds 3-6. In round 7 there was a clash of head in which McIntyre suffered a cut which seemed to bother him, as a result Stephens 78-73, 77-74, 77-74. Gulfcoastboxing saw it 78-74

In womens super middleweight action Valerie “The Wolfe” Mahfood (18-8-1) avenged one of her recent losses as a she claimed a victory over Yolanda Swindell (3-2). In round 1 Swindell came out as the aggressor and seemed to have Mahfood’s number. In round 2 it looked to be more of the same, but :37 seconds into the round Swindell went to the ground and grabbed her shoulder. She would not continue. After the fight Swindell grabbed the house microphone and assured the crowd that she would be back to put on a better show.
