Minimum 30 runners for added money at Regular GCBR Shows. Each Regular GCBR show will have an additional $250 added to the Open 4D with 100 or more entries.
Books open 1 hour prior to exhibtion start time and close 30 minutes prior to start of show. The arena will be closed for 30 minutes prior to the start of each show beginning with the March show.

Sponsorship/Work Points/Finals
*Each 2008 GCBR member will be responsible for securing a minimum of $50 in contributions from sponsors for added money / year end awards. See Awards section for details. This can be in the form of products or money. If a family has more than 2 members, they are only responsible for $100 in contributions. Sponsorship packets are available on the website and will be made available at the barrel races.
*Each 2008 GCBR member will be required to work a minimum of 4 shows for "work points". Each job will be awarded a specific number of points. See Work Points section for details.
*GCBR will hold a Final show in December. See Finals section for details.
General Rules
Membership is open to any interested party. To become a member, an application for membership must be filled out and returned to the Secretary along with the yearly membership dues.
Membership dues are $20 per individual or $50 per family (3 or more).
Each entrant will pay a $5 grounds fee.
Awards
In the event of a tie, the tie breaker will be:
1. Number of jackpots competed in;
2. Number of first places in that class;
3. Number of second places in that class;
4. Amount of money won in that class; and/or
5. Flip of coin.
Each member is required to obtain a minimum $50 personal or corporate contribution for Year End / Finals Awards. This can be in the form of products or money. If a family has more than 2 members, they are only responsible for $100 in contributions. Sponsorship packets are available on the website and will be made available at the barrel races.
Work Points
1. Each individual member is required to earn a minimum of twenty (20) points and work at least five (4) jackpots to be eligible to ride at the Finals and to receive year-end awards.
2. Family memberships require the first member (usually the adult) to earn a minimum of twenty (20) work points, the 2nd member is required to earn ten (10) work points, the 3rd and 4ths members to earn five (5) work points each to be eligible to receive year end awards. All family members are required to work at least four (4) jackpots to be eligible for year end awards.
3. All required work points must be earned prior to the Finals.
4. No workers under the age of 13 will be allowed to work the gate unless accompanied by an adult.
5. Timekeeper and announcer must be 18 years of age or older.
6. Work points will be awarded to each worker per jackpot for the following duties:
Announcer 2 points
Timekeeper 2 points
Gate worker 2 points
Set up arena 3 points
Barrel Setter 3 points
Tractor driver 5 points
Clean up 3 points
Take up stakes/Timers 2 points
Loading and unloading equip 2 points
7. A worksheet will be available at each jackpot for each worker to list their name in the appropriate place. Work points will be awarded to only members whose names appear on the worksheet.
8. Members will be dropped from the standings from the first date it becomes apparent that the work point requirements cannot be met due to the jackpot schedule.
9. Anyone can work for a GCBR member and count as work points for that member providing the member is present at the jackpot and their name appears on the worksheet.
Classes
A. Open Poles
Open to all ages, genders, etc. Points will be kept on a horse/rider combination. Places are determined by fastest time. AQHA rules apply. Points will be awarded using a 5 point system with points dropping down to members.
B. Youth 4D
Rider must be 18 years of age or younger as of January 1 of the jackpot year. Points will be kept on a horse/rider combination. Places are determined as in the Open 4D. Breaking pattern and not continuing forward motion will result in no time. All jackpot money will be paid, and if no one placing in a D, that money will be split between the other D’s. Points will be awarded using a 5 point system with points dropping down to members.
C. Open 4D
Open to all ages, genders, etc. Points will be kept on a horse/rider combination. Places are determined by fastest time (1D) plus ½ second (2D); fastest time plus 1 second (3D) and fastest time plus 2 seconds (4D). No time for knocked down barrel. Breaking pattern and not continuing forward motion will result in no time. All jackpot money will be paid, and if no one placing in a D, that money will be split between the other D’s. Points will be awarded using a 5 point system with points dropping down to members.
D. PeeWee
Open to competitor 10 years of age and younger as of January 1 of the jackpot year. Points will be kept on horse/rider combination. Places are determined by fastest time. Points will be awarded using a 5 point system with points dropping down to members.
Point System
A five (5) point system will be used in all classes. Occasionally we will have double points shows. Points will drop down to members if a non-member places above a member. The points awarded in each class, will be as follows:
1st place 5 points
2nd place 4 points
3rd place 3 points
4th place 2 points
5th place 1 point
Points will count only from approved GCBR jackpots. Points are kept only on members of GCBR.

Finals
The Year End Champions will be established prior to the finals show.
The Finals show will be limited to the top 10 in each division, in each GCBR points class, dropping down to the next member if a contestant qualifies in more than one division. There is no minimum number of shows requirement.
There will be a Year End Champion, as well as a Finals Champion in each GCBR points class.
In order to qualify to compete in the finals, a contestant must meet the following additional guidelines:
1. Membership dues are paid.
2. Donation requirement is met.
3. Work Point requirement is met.
GCBR has always strived to promote safe, family oriented horsemanship and we have no tolerance for animal abuse. Think before you whip, you are always someone's role model!

Added 5/1/08- Finals Show
Finals show will be open to members and non-members. The top 10 GCBR members in each division will roll their times to a seperate pot to determine the Finals Champions.
Added 5/6/08- Change of Horse
Substitutions are
accepted due to injury, death or sale of horse. One (1) substitution is allowed per season and you may not change back to the original horse. In this situation, points will stay with the rider.
