Helping out at your local rescue centre is a great way of getting to know guinea pig's and how they live, also what kind of care they need if you are interested in buying your own cavies. Guinea pigs are very sociable animals and if you have a guinea pig living alone make sure you are in a lot and make a fuss over your cavies, try to buy two guinea pigs to make your job easier.
