Description:The largest city and cultural center of this now-ruined empire, Ascalon City is only of two remaining in the entire Kingdom. Though the buildings have fallen and the cathedrals are shambles, the people here live on in the shadow of what once was.

Fort Ranik  

Type:   Outpost

Connecting Areas:   Regent River Basin, The Great Northern Wall (The Previous Mission)

Description:   Fort Ranik was the training facility used by the Ascalon military to train new soldiers to fight in the Guild Wars. When the wars ended, the fort itself, like most other buildings in Ascalon, had been almost completely destroyed. All that remains are the outer walls and the memories of what once was.

Primary quest:   Retake the Great Northern Wall. Push back the invading Charr army. (need to find the Arming Crank, Release Level & Restraining Bolt near the end of the area. Found in Wrecked Catapults). Reward: 1000xp & a skill point.

Secondry Quest:   Gurn Blanston wants you to find his wife. Melka Blanston, outside Ascalon City and tell her he loves her. & Free the soldiers (100 xp reward).

    Great Northern Wall:  

    Type: Outpost

    Connecting Areas: Ascalon City

    Description: The Great Northern Wall is the last line of defense between the beastlike Charr of the North, and the two remaining cities of the fallen kingdom of Ascalon. Before the searing, the Northern Gate was the grand diplomatic entrance used to greet visiting dignitaries. Now it is just another outpost, manned by the Ascalon army and citizens who volunteer for guard duty.

    Primary Quest: Search north of the Wall to find the Charr army. Report your findings to Captain Calhaan. Tip: Near the end of the quest, following the cinematic begin to run back to Captain Calhaan's position. One member of the group must make it to him alive, otherwise the mission will be failed. Don't underestimate the speed of the Charr, they will be nipping at your heels.

    Secondry Quest:Follow the area path and as you reach the large tar pool head into the narrrow passage northwest and immediately before the pool. You shall meet a character named Kilnn Testibrie, he will ask you to retrieve his 4 piece set of armor. The pieces of armor are located in 4 separate wreckage mounds.

    Description: None of Ascalon's academies of magic remain intact after the Searing. In its prime, the Academy in Nolani was known all across Tyria as one of the most prestigious schools of magic on the entire continent. Ambassadors from Orr and Kryta often made special arrangements to have their children study here, even though they were not of Ascalon decent.

    Primary Quest: Return Prince Rurik south of the wall to safety. Sneak out and ambush the Charr forces besieging the Academy. Return to the Nolani Academy to rendezvous with the Prince. Defend Prince Rurik on the way back to the capital city of Rin.
