Where the hell did summer go?? I don't know! Way too fast. It was a good summer I guess. I took a writing course at Writer's Digest. The course was so-so--but it got me writing again! I was writing with a passion I hadn't had in years! So the money was worth the class. Then I went to the Holy City and found my new hobby--cross stitching! I have just been a cross stitching fool. I stitch for hours at a time and I adore it. I so enjoyed living my life on my time--sleeping late, eating at 10 p.m. and staying up until 1.30 a.m. Sigh. Back to the real world. I just pray for balance so I am not giving up soul. They don't give awards for that. So I have not given up dolling, but my passion right now is cross stitching. I hope to sooner than later get a program where I can turn my dolls into cross stitch patterns. I have actually added a cross stitch page to my website where I will show my creations. And I've joined a great cross stitch forum too. I am also expanding my faith and attending the Catholic Church when I can. Feelings and emotions--and life is still kinda tough. Divorce has been devastating to me on every level. But, I push forward. Blessed Be.
I am already working on another cross stitch project--a wolf. This one will take me awhile though. See all my stitches on my Cross stitch page.
Right now I am doing others' patterns, but I definitely want to move onto my own original creations!
"We are meant to be here. We step from on piece of holy ground to the next under stars that ask imagine for once second, you could drop in on a past life. What would you like to find yourself doing there? What would charm you...make you proud? Ask yourself that and the question of what to do in this life becomes so simple, it's terrifying. Just to do that thing that would charm you that would make you say, yes, this the real me. Do that and you're alive."

Duchess of Cambridge at Tea and Luncheon
Phew! This outfit didn't look so hard when I chose to do it, but it was not easy. The biggest challenge was the hat and pleated skirt. I just cannot get the idea of a pleated skirt. And the hat has a lot more detail in real life, but I couldn't translate it into pixels. Kate wore this dress twice. Once for Tea with the Queen and once to a Windsor Castle luncheon. It did cost 1,200 pounds--roughly 1,800 dollar--so well worth wearing twice. Actually Kate is known for 'recycling' her clothes. Most of use just call it living! If I were a duchess or princess--I would have lots of clothes designed by Calvin Klein and Versace. Also lots of Barbies. Anyway, I tried to be faithful to the sparkly gold purse and tan shoes, which I am not a fan of. I would have worn white or pink shoes. I am quite happy with how she came out. You can see a reference picture here. She is on my base. I don't know why, but Duchess Kate just gives me hope in these really hard times for me.
Brida, Imbolc 2013
This is my Imbolc doll for 2013. I used Chocotini's base because it was part of the contest at Pixel Empire. I enjoyed working on her--especially since she is a smaller doll. I decided to go with a really simple palette. Imbolc or the Feast of St. Brigid is on February 1 or 2 depending on which calendar you follow. In the pagan year, there are eight Sabbats and 4 of them are the light part of the year and four of them are the dark part of the year. Imbolc marks the first of the light Sabbats. Although we are still in the throes of winter, Spring is coming. I tried really hard to pixel a lamb--but I a afraid the little lamb looks more like a dog. I am happy with the way St. Brigid's cross came out. Hand pixelled by me! This is also a gift for a dear friend whom I knew as Haich and is now Linkin-D. Not adoptable. Blessed Imbolc!
Duchess Catherine, at the BAFTA
She and William outshone all the other stars at the British Academy of Film and Television Awards. I am really pleased with the dress. First, I still have it! I can do folds. But, secondly, this dress is not symmetrical. And, this is perhaps my first non-symmetrical dress. Had I been more perspicacious I would have made her hair flow with the dress, but alas...I think I did a really nice job. I used Juicy Dolls' hair tutorial. I struggled with the hair for so long and her tutorial finally helped me do it. Once I looked at the perspective of the purse in Kate's hand, I got that too. So overall, she was a lot of fun to work on. Base by Me.
Duchess Catherine, Calgary
Duchess Catherine (I prefer Princess Kate, because to me she is a Princess) and Prince William visited Calgary, Canada for the Rodeo and Stampede. They got into the spirit by sporting cowboy hats and boots. I think Kate looks grand in her Western wear. Although, I have no idea how the Canadians can claim the American tradition of cowboy boots and hats. Don't trust those Canadians. First, it's cowboy hats and boots--next it's our constitution! Anyway, I started Kate over a year ago and finally finished her! I am pleased with her. The jeans are maybe a bit too foldy, but I a happy with the shirt whose pattern was no easy feat. I am also not sure about the cowboy hat, but that's how it looks in the picture. I am happy with the boots. You can't see her beautiful cross belt buckle very well, but it's there. I enjoy making Kate dolls. They make me happy! And, I need happiness. I am still working on that dollmaker/paper doll set of Kate. Yay for the end of my hiatus! On my base.
Princess Catherine, Buckingham Reception
Only a princess would have two gorgeous gowns--one for the wedding and one for the reception. For the marriage at Westminster Abbey, Kate's dress needed to be more demur but also full of pomp, but for the reception she could wear her own sleeker style. I don't have the pictures to prove it, but I bet the dress is strapless under her cardigan! I had fun working on Kate even though I did her over a year ago. I am still planning on making paper dolls or a dollmaker of her. The cardigan took a few tries--but this dress was simple compared to the official gown! On my base.
You may adopt and use my dolls for signatures and avatars, but you MUST give credit to "guenever". A link is best. Just cut and paste this: http://www.freewebs.com/guenever/. NO Direct Linking
No Frankendolling or editing or claiming as your own.
It is simple: adopt my doll and give credit. Don't mess with it.
Any use other than honest credit-given adoption will result in immediatly becoming a toad with boils. I'm serious.
