2008 has been a tough season for the Glory, both in DMB and in real life. Desperate times require desperate actions, so Johan Santana was traded to get a 1st, a 2nd, and Jeff Francouer. Joaquin Benoit was traded for a draft pick, replaced by Salomon Torres from the Free Agent heap. The 2009 Glory draft will be 3 1s, 1 2, 3 3s and 2 4s. We're hoping to get a ton of good talent to rebuild this mess. Top needs are at 3B, SS, SP, and RP. I have decided to hang onto Felix Pie, despite his complete lack of success with the Cubs. Maybe Baltimore will be more to his liking. No pressure to win games, make the playoffs, etc. So many people believe in him that I'd hate to miss the turnaround. Having 2 UNL OF's with EX arms is sure nice. Maybe I can find another....
We're looking forward to draft day. Who know what will happen then but one thing's for sure.... Green Bay will be looking for lots of pitching. And a SS or two. And one more OF. And someone named Longoria to play 3rd.
Only one player remains on the roster from the 2003 season, the year the league was founded. And not because I didn't try to trade him offseason. But nobody wanted little Jamey Carroll. He says he's going to make you all pay.
I'm hoping that Homer Bailey was a real steal in the Silent Auction, at the price of a very late 2nd rounder. Rumor has it he has a ton of talent. For the 2009 season, you all can enjoy his 2.09 WHIP!!! I'm thinking in a year or two he'll take a full point off that.
