A New Day Dawns At Grasslands Leonbergers....

Hello and welcome to Grasslands Leonbergers online.  We are happy that you have found us.  We are Rachel and Patrick Grass and we live in Mooresville, North Carolina with our two young children.  Mooresville is a lovely area near beautiful Lake Norman, with the closest major city being Charlotte.  We have been captivated by the Leonberger breed since Spring of 2000.

Here at Grasslands Leonbergers, we strive to produce the best Leonberger dogs that we possibly can.  With emphasis on temperament and type, we feel that our dogs are what the Leonberger should be; a strong, elegant dog that is suitable for family life, a dog that loves to be with his family, a dog that loves to go for a swim in the pond or go for a hike in the mountains, or simply lay on the couch with you. Whether you are looking for a conformation or obedience prospect or simply a wonderful companion we may have the right dog for you.

We feel that it is our responsibility to do everything we can to protect the Leonberger breed.  Because of this, we are members in good standing with the Leonberger Club of America (LCA), the breed club for the Leonberger in the United States, as well as the Southeast Leonberger Club, our regional representative.  We are active with Leonberger Rescue, volunteering to identify possibly Leonbergers in area shelters, as well as offering transport for any Leonbergers in need.  All of our breeding dogs have had health clearances for hips (OFA and PennHip), elbows, thyroid, cardiac, and eyes as appropriate for their age.  When old enough, our dogs also have temperament testing done and earn their Canine Good Citizinship (CGC) and Therapy Dog International (TDI) titles.  We do this to ensure that we are doing everything we possibly can to breed dogs that will produce puppies that live healthy and happy lives.
