Over a week since the last update... guess I got lazy

So a lot has happened since the last update... I believe bullet points will serve me well!

• Fresh off of a reformat (thanks again Vista Beta) so I haven't had much time to play lately... sorry guys...
• We recently acquired two new members, Cermo and MasterChink! We're all looking forward to some great games with y'all!
• The Nintendo Wii... need I say more?
• Battlefield 2142 v1.05 was recently released, so be sure to visit your favorite file hosting site to snag the update. This should get rid of most of the lag we experience on the Titans, but SHotty has already reported a BSOD due to the patch.. so look out...

Besides that, I'll try to be on more often, especially now that I'm off of school for the next four days... and how abute some activity on the message boards?

What is with me and the morning updates? Oh well...

So i got home at 11:30 last night to see K-Biz, G-Nugget, and Shadow in 2142. I joined up and we were doing great. I've got some screenshots of the games that I'll have uploaded in a bit. If you guys have any you'd like to get uploaded, send them to groundpounders@gmail.com and ill upload them right away!

Props to Shadow for creating the message boards. Shotty has already found it, and i hope it grows into an active forum. I spent some time creating a skin for the boards to help make it look like this site here. You can change your theme in your user profile.



Lastly, i updated the Recruitment page to include the [GPD] Code of Conduct in it's final form...

Gameplay

• There's no "I" in [GPD], so work together and cover each other
• No matter the rank in the clan or on the battlefield, listen to the squad leader
• Never, ever purposely kill a teammate, but accidents do happen, so revive them if possible
• Always try to keep your teammates in shape (medics: heal and revive)(support: resupply)
• Communicate (through teamspeak, xfire, or in game chat)
  

Behavior

• Keep the swearing to a minimum, it makes you and the clan look immature
  
• Don't be an annoying douche and put other players down, especially your teammates
• Above all else, just have fun

I know it's unfortunate for some of you, but what can I say? GroundPounders die hard.

Anyways, I'm glad to see Double and Biscuit updating the site as often as they are. We finally have a Code of Conduct here. It's pretty good, so follow it. It's not that hard and saves everyone a lot of trouble. I made a message board for us today. You can check it out here. It's still very much a work in progress, but it's still something.

Before I go, I just wanted to let you guys know that if all goes to plan there will be some major changes taking place in the clan. I won't ruin the surprise, but I think they will make things better.

So i figured that we should probably instate some sort of 'code of conduct' to keep people from being complete griefers in the clan. As of now, the clan attitude and atmosphere is more than i could hope for, but i think we should have a few rules before someone starts getting out of hand (I'm looking at you, few ex-members)

so here's the deal:  way to go with the updates dub, we're lookin' good.  clan's getting nice and organized, i like it.  i'd like to get like one nice big everybody in the clan play night once a week, we should definitely get something like that, post at the beginning of the week for a weekend game or something.  anyways, way to go john.  by the way, nugget says the nvidia driver page is way out of date, but i don't feel like fuckin' with it.  go for it.  can i say fuckin'?  lemme know if that's okay.  nugget should also be running a 24/7 dedicated teamspeak server starting this weekend, so thanks to him for that.  if you don't have teamspeak or it's not working properly, get on that, it really makes us better in game.  there's a link on our software page.  do members read this page?  maybe we can get a poll up or something to find out...  anyways, i hope so, john's been doin' good, i try to get some stuff.  i've been thinking about a message board...  i think shadow set one up a long time ago, we'll have to check it out.

Another day, another update. thats pretty much what I do around here. Let's go over today's updates, shall we?

• Added a link to the Creative drivers on the PC Tweaks page
• Updated the Media page to include Battlefield 2142 (I must have lost a lot of BF2 images when i reformatted)
• Found a few consistency errors on the Soldiers page. Knocked those right out.

So, with the site in tip-top shape, I'd like to generate some more traffic. The way I see it, more traffic equals more members, which is good, you see? so get the word out [GPD]! I just updated my sig on the IGN boards to include my xfire profile and the website. Small things like this can do a lot of good.

Also, if you've taken any good screenshots in 2142, send them to groundpounders@gmail.com so I can upload them to the site!

So i just finished up editing a few pages to the site, here's a list of what i did...

• Added titles to k-biz's updates (go you!)
• Added the Software page (as seen in the navbar)
• Updated the Recruitment page quieries
• Left a message on the Media page saying it's old (i should really get on that...)

so klayborne hooked me up with a teamspeak server he said is up all the time, so i think we should use that, we've had some issues with ours.  i created our own channel there, so we'll try it out.  you have to register, so make sure you get someone to help you out there.  ip is 67.62.163.96 right now, hopefully that doesn't change on us.  anyways, maybe we'll try this.

good playin' last night guys.  nice to finally get together.  i thought it went pretty well.  we had some teamspeak issues, but overall it was alright.  you guys know i can be a communication nazi, if you will, so we can always get that better, but i wasn't too disappointed, i've definitely had much worse.  overall, good job team.  i got a feeling we'll have games like that most weekends.  i got nothing more to say.  welcome to shotty, looking forward to playing with you man.  i'm gonna go finish watching the bears game and then cry if they don't start playing better, i'll see you guys on the 'field.

Again, a morning update

So yesterday we finally got G-Nugget on and all was well with the clan! Everyone was on Xfire, TeamSpeak was up, and we were all having fun. Let's try to keep this up!

Also, yesterday I received my silver Assault badge, worth a whopping 500 points... so I was able to unlock the second sprint upgrade

Lastly, I've been going around and doing some recruiting on the IGN boards, so hopefully we'll have some new members soon.

Morning all, just felt like updating this morning because i didn't have much else to do...

I hope the games went well yesterday, i could only get one game in, and that was after Shadow and Nugget left. Speaking of which, it's good to finally see him on. I didn't get home until 11 last night and afterwards had to wrestle with drivers and install 2142 on my new partition...

Also, K-Biscuit is in possession of my old X700 Pro, so he can finally enjoy a few games on decent settings. I think I'll go edit the Soldier page to add in everyones specs...

Lastly, Shadow let me borrow his old Saitek Eclipse, which i am using right now... i can finally type in the DARK!

Biscuit wants to get on again tonight, and I'll pretty much be on all day, so if you wanna play a few rounds, catch me on xfire!

Sorry to invade the update, but I would just like to bring up some recent news on the upcoming patch, which can be found here.

The update promises to minimize the amount of disconnects people experience from the EA Master Server, as well as halting the Titans once the shields are down to minimize the lag (thank you jesus). See you on the Battelfield.

You heard it here first! :P That's right, Battlefield 2142 is out and we are already playing it. It's about time [GPD] came back and did some damage. I'll be on whenever i can so try to be on whenever you can. Also, be sure to let everyone know what loudout you're using in 2142 so the team can get an idea as to what you can and can't do. Well i know some, if not all, of you were disappointed to hear that Quake Wars will not be making an appearance in 2006, but the $50 BF2 mod, BF2142 is well on its way! I  dont know abute you guys, but if there is one thing I like, it's futuristic combat based on a buggy engine full of exploits...

But anyways, I'll still be buying the game, and I'm quite certain the clan as a whole will move to being a primarily BF2142 clan, at least I hope so. I for one have had my share of BF2 for now. Lately I've ben playing a lot more Day of Defeat: Source. I highly encourage all of you to go out and get it for $15 at Circuit City. Worth every penny IMO!

Wow. This site is so neglected. Oh well! i figure with a month left in the summer before school starts, we should prolly get GPD rolling again.

First off, I want everyone to give me a list of exactly what games they currently have and can play online. For example, everyone here has and plays Battlefield 2. But what abute Call of Duty 2? I've got it and play it online a lot more often than i do BF2. So again, I'd like to know exactly what everyone can play.

Secondly, let's not beef on other GPD members ;)

Thricely, I would like to get a few games going in the Moders Wake Island 2007 server on Monday, July 24th. ill be on almost the whole day, playing whatever, so let's try to get a big group of GPD guys on the US side and kick some ass!
