Welcome to the homepage of Grønning. A place not so known to everybody , but it will be after this site is up running

History: Grønning were origninally a fishingplace, where people from all places came to fish herring. A saying has said that the fjord of eidsfjord were so filled up with boates that you could walk from boat to boat to reach the other side. Grønning originally had its own school were people form places around in the eidsfjord attended to do their education. Grønning also had a place to buy and sell groceries so people could establish themselfes and survive here. in newer times industry and a shop have been the only industry and buisness in the area, but it didnt last long and new options have now arrived.
Newer history:The last shop closed in 1997--98, the school was closed for around 30 years ago, because of a new school system and urbanisation of schools at bigger places, and the herring fishing is not as lucrative anymore and noone does this at all, just as a hobby.
But not everything have turned bad for the community.Tourism have opened peoples eyes and the old shop and fishhouse have become a fashionable rent out place where poeple can rent when the building is available. Just visit grønnningbrygga and you can read more about it. (hunting and fishing is also services you can attend)
