A brief history of the GGR (Grockle Garden Railway)

Moved to its present site in late 2001 and started collecting the materials to start the build.   The build started in late 2005 and was completed in its present state in mid 2006 when the first trains were run on the permenant way.  Many modifications have been carried out since and work is still in the progressive stage.  At present there is approx a scale mile of track for both the up and down workings.  This is to be increased to approx 2 and 1/2 miles of scale track when the remainder of the contruction work has been completed and the GGR will then have a continous run around the garden.

The reason for the name is because I have a quite a few visitors who come to see me who have either got or have had the standard indoor model railway on the 8x4 board set-up.  This is a haven for them to run their own locomotives on different rails and to give their loco's a stretch.
