I am such a sucker for this movie, and it hasn't even come out in the Netherlands yet! No, sirree, I saw a crappy-ass WinMX download on my computer and I became obsessed with mildly interested in it.
There's already quite a lot of PotC fanfiction online, a lot of it really crap (like the stuff on ff.net -- and I only go there to laugh at the Mary Sues), but some of it really good. Most fanfiction focuses on CAPTAIN Jack Sparrow, and more often than not, everyone wants him (a sentiment I can fully understand :D). I'm not very discriminate when it comes to pairings -- if it has Jack in it somewhere, I'll read it. I am, however, veryveryvery fond of Jack/Will/Elizabeth, my new OT3, since it's the most perfectest perfect pairing ever.

† 3 Days of Rum, by sloanesomething
[part one, part two and part three ]
Starts out as Jack/Elizabeth in the first two parts, then adds Will in the third part. A delicious three-parter -- begins on the island where Jack and Elizabeth are stranded, and isn't that a fantastic place to kick off Jack/Elizabeth? I thought so too. This fic is hot, well-written and sloanesomething's Jack just makes my insides melt. Puuurrrrr. (Jack/Elizabeth, Jack/Elizabeth/Will)
† A Bird in the Hand, by Camarthen
Wah. Jack's voice = so.damn.good. This is a short-ish Jack/Bootstrap Bill Turner fic which worked for me on many levels. It's just barely slash -- very barely -- but underneath the J/BSBT (his name is way too long to type out, okay?) interaction, there's a comfortable sense of belonging together. And the last line's brilliant as well :). Bill gives Jack a tattoo. (Jack/Bootstrap Bill Turner)
† Twinkle and Twirl, by Mala
Rrroowwwrrr. I'm not a big fan of het, but in PotC, even I could not deny the Jack/Elizabeth. Twinkle and its sequel Twirl are delightfully funny and hot stories that perfectly capture Elizabeth's voice. I can't say too much without giving away the ending, but you should go and read it now. (Jack/Elizabeth, natch. Jack looks good with anyone, I'm beginning to think.)
† His Holiness, Captain Sparrow
Remember that scene where Jack's about to be hanged, and they're listing all his crimes? And he sort of grins and goes 'Yeah, that was a good one' when they mention 'impersonating a member of the clergy'? So, here's the story about that particular episode in Captain Sparrow's life. Filled with humor and good lines, it has a great internal Jack voice, and it's without a doubt one of the best pieces of PotC fanfiction I've read. (Gen.)
† A Brilliant Plan, by Gileonnen
One of Jack's brilliant plans goes awry, calling the need for another brilliant plan. Gileonnen is one of my favorite PotC writers, and also the one that made me believe in the t00byness of Jack/Norrington. I know I say this with every rec, because it's the one thing I really need in PotC fic, but... it has an amazing Jack voice. And the last line? It's a good thing I wasn't drinking anything while reading it, because I might just have splurted it all over the keyboard. (Jack/Norrington)
† Mirage of Blue and Green, by Thrift Store Junkie
After having tasted the life of a pirate and subsequently returning to a normal life, Will gets bored and joins Jack on the Black Pearl. There are some lovely, lovely descriptions in this story and the relationship between Jack and Will is portrayed wonderfully. Some funny lines here and there, well-written and well-crafted. (Jack/Will)
† Playing by the Rules, by Lady BD
All's not well in Will/Elizabeth land, and the cause of their issues sails on a little boat ship called the Black Pearl. Will and Elizabeth both realize something important: they want Jack (well, who doesn't, really?). It starts out as rivalry, but as the saying goes, all's well that ends well. I Liked-with-a-capital-L this story, especially the portrayal of Jack and Elizabeth. The latter's written like I expect her to be after the movie, since I don't feel a normal life is something she's suited for. Loffly story, from start to finish. (Jack/Will/Elizabeth)
† Of Shackles and the Sun, by Nix
This story got me from the first line on. No, strike that, from the first paragraph on, in all its wonderful Jack-ness. The plot is simple: Jack witnesses Will and Elizabeth's marriage, leaves, and then they surprise him. There are some great comedic lines in the story, I lovelovelove the way the three of them are written and overall, this story just made me feel all warm and tingly inside. Whee. (Will/Elizabeth, sorta Jack/Will/Elizabeth)
† Impure Thoughts, by Mandolin the FlameDame
My first thought upon finishing this story was "@&$^^@!hothothotoverload!##@!" My second thought was that Bootstrap Bill Turner gets an awful lot of attention for a guy who was never actually seen in the movie. This story, too, deals with the 'impersonating a member of the clergy' charge against Jack, and does so in an incredibly hot and sizzling manner. Bill's thrown in prison, Jack helps him get out. In his own, unique way, of course :D. (Jack/BSBT)
† Falling, by Alexis SisterWolf
Waaah. So good, so good! Written in the present tense, even, a type of storytelling I normally don't like very much. Short, but it packs a punch, and everyone's wonderfully in character. As it's from Elizabeth's POV, I'm very happy to report that her voice sounds wonderful and that I love her more with each great story that I read. There's no real plot, just a quick succession of scenes from Elizabeth's life -- with the men she loves. (Jack/Will/Elizabeth)
† A Scandalous Lack of Morals, by Ponderosa
Pond has written PotC fic! :D I know this wonderful author from Gundam Wing fandom, and she's used her writing talent to produce this wonderful lemon/PWP wherein Jack, Will and Elizabeth have a lot of fun together in bed. The characterization rocks, the sex scenes are hot and spicy, and hey, who needs a plot if you can have pretty people having sex? The link leads to the story version that's on her website, so be a good girl (or boy) and check out her terrific art work as well.
† Meet the Norringtons, by Gileonnen
Another wonderful Jack/Norrington story, in which Norrington tries -- very gently indeed -- to introduce his parents to the man he intends to spend his life with. Needless to say, the Norrington 'rents are a little less than enthusiastic about it. The domestic behind-the-scenes in the kitchen are a hoot to read and, like with Gileonnen's other stories, there are a wealth of funny lines and giggle-worthy moments. Oh, and there's a lobster. Or is that a duck?(Jack/Norrington)
† Full Circle, by Molly
Elizabeth is more like Jack than Will realized at first. It's really hard to say what the story's about -- sufficient to say that the writing is very, very good, the characterization is even better, and the whole story left with me with a smile and a giggly mood. Niiice. (Jack/Will/Elizabeth)
† Hurricane Jack, by Shrift
As many probably know, Shrift's writing style is nothing short of amazing, and her PotC story is no exception to this rule. Everything works in this story, aside from the occasional piece of swollen language -- the characterization, Jack's manner, Will's behavior, just everything. This is a lovely piece of writing, with good, solid humor in the style of the movie. Oh, and the sex is... *melts into puddle* Great story. (Jack/Will)
† Intercessor, by Fearless Diva
The island scene was a source of inspiration which lead to many terrific stories, among which this story. Love Jack, adore Elizabeth and their interactions are just so wonderfully squee-worthy I found myself to do anything else. (Jack/Elizabeth)
