| On 11 December 2007, Pratchett posted online that he had been newly diagnosed with a very rare form of early-onset Alzheimer's disease. Since then, he has made a donation of US$1 Million to the Alzheimer’s Research Trust (http://www.alzheimers-research.org.uk/) Pratchett’s fans have since decided to match this donation. Thus, Match It for Pratchett (http://www.matchitforpratchett.org/) was created. This is our attempt to help the man who has brought joy, laughter and wisdom to all the readers of the world.
In response my colleague and I have made 5 badges, with the very kind assistance of Mr Neil Gaiman and Ms Tanith Lee.
All of these badges can be bid upon on Ebay. The sales have been staggered in case some people find them late.
