ATLANTIS

   For years people have wondered if Atlantis really existed, it is one of the worlds greatest mysteries. Most people say that the existence of Atlantis is impossible, while others say that the possibilities of Atlantis existing are possible. The possibilities are endless, but is there really enough evidence to support the lost city of the ancients? How did Atlantis disappear? How was Atlantis created? Where was Atlantis and were there survivors?

 

 

    There are many different explanations used to explain the creation of Atlantis. For example many believe that the Greek Gods created Atlantis. Though that is highly unlikely. Also, others believe that Atlantis was like The Garden Of Eden, the creation of all living things. In addition people may also believe that Atlantis was mentioned in the bible, as a small island near Egypt. Therefore, believing that God created Atlantis. In short, people believe either the Greek Gods or our own religious God created Atlantis.

 

 

    There are also many possible locations that Atlantis could have been. To begin with, Atlantis was thought to have been close to Azores Island, a sunken volcanic island that at some point in time there was an enormous natural disaster. Also, another suspected location was Madeira, a Central American state. In summary, Atlantis was thought to be in either two places, Azores Island, or Madeira.

 

 

    People have developed many different theories on how Atlantis disappeared or was destroyed. One example is some believe that Atlantis sunk in a day and a night, while others say that Atlantis was under the ocean and never really sunk at all. But if Atlantis was under the ocean to begin with, then how was it destroyed? Another example is that Atlantis could have been hit by a meteor, which hit the earth at estimated speeds of 20km/sec. Another reason, the most unlikely reason, was that the Greek Gods destroyed Atlantis. Some say that the Atlanteans gave up worshiping the Greek Gods, and the Gods destroyed Atlantis out of anger. This is more of a legend. In conclusion, Atlantis either sunk, was hit by a meteor, or was destroyed by the Gods.

 

 

     After all that destruction, it seems very unlikely that there would be any survivors. Despite the probability that there weren’t any survivors, scientists still believe that there is a chance that there could have been survivors. First, scientists estimate that due to the horrible circumstances of a meteor the size of 66,24km, the island would have been covered in huge clouds of toxic gasses within several minutes. Though it seems highly improbable, evidence shows that a number of people were able to reach surrounding areas like Africa and Europe. Second, there have been pictures on rocks in those countries of people in boats fleeing some sort of horrible catastrophe. Additionally, it seems that overnight the shores of theses areas were transformed by the arrival of a very skilled and talented people. In short, some survivors were able to escape to the surrounding areas around Atlantis, and were also able to leave a mark of their heritage behind.

 

 

 

    So did Atlantis really exist? We may never really be sure. If Atlantis did exist then the Atlanteans were a very strong – willed people, who were determined to leave their mark, and never be forgotten. The evidence to support Atlantis is very real, and if there were survivors their ancestors are still alive today. So was Atlantis real, or was it just a Myth to help us fall asleep at night? That question may never be fully answered.

Crop Cricles. Are they real or are the just a stupid joke?

 

          Crop Circles

 

   They are one of the greatest mysteries of the world. They have had scientists baffled for years and still do. Are they a hoax or are they just unexplainable?

 

  Initially found in England, Crop circles were said to have started appearing in the early 1970’s, but many believe that the ancients were the first to have come in contact with this strange phenomena. In 1678 crop circles were said to have been formed by the “Mowing Devil”. Ancient scripts say, “that the crop of Oat shew’d as if it had been all of flame. It also says that it was “ so neatly mowed by the Devil or some Infernal Spirit that no Mortal Man was able to do like”. Medieval literature also tells of pixie circles or otherwise known as fairy circles. Fairy circles are an area of heavy grass, mushrooms, or circles were nothing would grow. Magical things were said to have happened there. Scientists now say that they were obvious crop circle formations.

 

   Photos of crop circles seemed to start around 1978. In the early 1980’s simple circles started to appear in cereal crops. Their sizes ranged from 10-30 feet in diameter. As it progressed into the late 1980’s the formations started to become more complex. This attracted a lot of media attention.

 

   Crop circles are very hard to find, unless you walk right into them or spot them from the air. They are usually found just in crops but have also been found on the ice, brush, snow and clay. Some crop circles have taken 4-5 hours to form, while others have reported crop circles forming within a few seconds. Most appear at night and it is very unlikely to see one being formed during the day. Some witnesses have reported seeing orbs of light before finding the crop circles. In the very unusual cases there has even been reports of hearing a light buzzing sound. That same buzzing caused the animals of Alton Barnes village to go wild and act strange.

 

   When a crop circle is formed it leaves the crop flattened in a complex form and there is usually alternating layers. Sometimes the pattern is in an elaborate bird’s nest pattern and the plant stalks are left bent but undamaged. The shapes of the crop circles remain in the soil for around 6 months after harvesting or ploughing.

 

  But how do we know if these crop circles are a hoax? That question has had many scientists puzzled. In fact most crop circles are hoaxes but the rest are left unexplainable. Simple crop circles are most likely to be hoaxes. The creativity is usually what gives it away. Most hoaxers start off with simple designs just to try it out. Hoaxers Doug and Dave have claimed responsibility for all the crop circles that have taken place in England since the 1980’s. But that does not account for the ones that showed up before then.

 

   Most activity of crop circles is in southern England. The reports usually start in late April or early May. They continue through to late August and early September. Crop circles are also said to have shown up all across Canada. They are usually found in the prairies. Crop circle formations are reported from spring to late fall or early winter in North America.

 

   Several thousand formations have so far been recorded. Since then, the geometrical patterns have become more popular. They have also grown from ranging 10-30 feet in diameter to several hundred feet in size, or more. The crop circles are most often reported to have been formed on rainy, stormy or moonless nights. The soil samples that have been taken from some of these crop circles have shown unexplainable biophysical effects.  Unusual anomalies and phenomena have also been reported. So have these crop circles had any strange effects on the people who have encountered them? In some cases when people entered the crop circle they acted strange like they were on drugs. They would even start to skip inside of the formation with people they had never even met before.

 

       So are crop circles just a joke or are they really signs that extraterrestrials do exist? That question my never be fully answered.

This is not a real Myth this is a school prject that I had to finish at the last minute.

              

                   Narthian and Arken

 

   

 

     Narthian was an elf. He lived in the vast woods of Tarquania with his brother Arken. Elves as you should already know are very elegant beings and are often born with powers that most mortals are not able to achieve. Narthian and his brother were just that, maybe even more elegant. Their long glowing robes couldn’t help but catch the attention of everyone around them. But something about Narthian and Arken made them different; Narthian and Arken were not like the elves that are most often described in fairy tales. You see Narthian and Arken’s father was a God. Their father was the mighty Altantean God Oranos, God of the sky passage.

 

    Narthian and Arken could remember the day when they had been condemned from their beautiful home world Narqua, (the world where all the Atlantean Gods dwelled) like a burning memory or a terrible nightmare. Narqua was full of life, something that Tarquania just didn’t have, but perhaps condemnation is not always for the worst, for great lessons can always be learned. This is the story of two elves named Narthian and Arken who learned a very valuable lesson; what happens in the end, no matter how horrible, there is always happiness and hope to be found. This is how the story began…

 

    Arken, his brother had asked him to come with him on his daily routine of casting lights down on the stars below them and watch the mortals below scamper around yelling like crazy: “ I just saw a UFO!” Although Arken found much joy and amusement in such doings, Narthian did not. Narthian usually denied such outrageous requests and continued to guard the Gate of Troy, (his father had appointed him this great task and Narthian had taken great pride and pleasure in doing so) but something about that day had tempted him to do otherwise.

 

   So Narthian followed his brother Arken through the beautiful and colourful forests of trees covered in a light coat of snow, to the rock of Argarthea. They sat upon that rock for hours casting lights upon the sky below, and Narthian couldn’t help but get caught up in all the excitement. It wasn’t until daybreak, when the sun shone its amazing rays of light over the mountains that they took notice of the earth shattering screams coming from their father’s throne.

 

    Quickly they rushed towards the throne, only to find that the resonating light that had always shone upon Narqua had disappeared leaving great darkness and sadness upon the world of the Gods. You see while Arken and Narthian had been out causing havoc upon the people of Earth, the evil Atlantean God Kronos had crept in through The Gate of Troy, which was normally protected by the most trusted son of Oranos, Narthian. Kronos had been forbidden from ever again entering Narqua after he had murdered Oranos’ wife Naria. Kronos then taking his darkened, evil finger and dipping it into the protective water of Narqua, which kept the world from ever becoming impure, vanished all hope of the immortals of Narqua ever living in purity.

 

   Narthian and Arken were then banished, like Kronos, from ever entering the world of Narqua. Though Oranos fought hard for their forgiveness and understanding it was to no avail. He even offered to take their place in punishment. But the God’s decision was final. Narthian and Arken were banished to another planet called Zinanthea, of which they were to spend the rest of their lives with only each other. The Gods had chosen them this punishment to show them what it was like to live without the people and things you loved. This justified the way the Gods felt with the absence of purity.

 

   Now you would expect that Narthian would show great anger and hatred towards his brother Arken, but truth be told he didn’t. In fact he actually looked up to his older brother. He couldn’t help but notice his strength and hope when times got tough. And every night that they stared into the starry sky the only thing Narthian could think of and remember was the great time he had spent with his brother, the few hours before they had been banished from their home world Narqua.

 

   It is also a shame to know that Oranos was not as forgiving as Narthian of his eldest son Arken. Oranos not only hated and despised Arken but he refused to even call him his son and to even hear his name being mentioned within his courts. Oranos also blames the mortals of Earth and still does, for tempting his sons into playing such trickery, and therefore distracting them from completing their more important tasks. So if you wonder why some people go missing or die from unnatural causes, Oranos has taken them and placed them on the planet of Zinanthea also known as the planet of the condemned. He places them there in hopes that Narthian will not be so lonely.

 

   So, now as Narthian, Arken and a few others gather wood from the luscious forests of Tarquania for the night’s fire they can’t help but wonder if their planet still remains undiscovered.
