The Breakdown
1 : A A A : 44-180-44 - Overall: C

This cart would be the 'well rounded' approach which would be good for a 'well rounded' 3rd or 4th place finishes on Medium Hardness races, worse on the Easy Hardness tracks, and a fair amount of 1st - 3rd finishes on Hard Hardness races. Overall just 'decent' and not much else to say about it.

Easy: Decent
Medium: Decent
Hard: Decent -> Good
2 : A A B : 44-192-40 - Overall: C

A fast cart with a decent amount of handling. Not enough to make it good on Medium or Hard races, but it will give you a bit of an edge on Medium races vs. people with similar carts. On Easy races it will be a good cart, though it won't compete with the 48-192-36 (B A B) combo therefore making your usual finishes around 3rd-4th though you'll definintly get a few 1sts and 2nds here and there.

Easy: Good
Medium: Decent
Hard: Bad
3 : A B A : 44-168-48 - Overall: B-

A huge lack in speed for a small AC and Handling boost? Seems horrible doesn't it? For the Easy and Medium races, hell yeah it's bad! Though even then you'll be doing decent (4th finishes) since not too many racers will have maxed cart parts. The reason this cart truly shines is thus: We all know most other people in this game rarely amount to anything greater than 'dumbfuck' and that's precisely where victory lies. Most other racers are going to think along the lines of 'Oooo big numbers!' while not paying any attention to what those numbers actually mean. They'll choose the cart with the best speed and they'll beat you on both the Easy and Medium races, but it's your own fault if you waste your tickets on those. You join the Hard races and only the Hard. VERY rarely will they be able to beat you on those. The next thing going for you, also derived from the 'all other hobos are dumbasses' rule, is that very few hobos will have this cart. Meaning, of course, that you'll rarely have any competition on the hard races and will win much more often than a racer with the best cart for Easy races will win on those Easy races.

5 : B A A : 48-180-40 - Overall: C-

A variation on the 1 and 4 carts with +4 AC and -4 Handling. Generally, though, any trade where you're giving up handling is a bad one. This case isn't an exception.

AC is the minimum speed your cart will go while Handling determines whether your cart crashes or not. A small increase in minimum speed just isn't worth the increased chance of crashing!

Easy: Decent
Medium: Decent
Hard: Bad
6 : B A B : 48-192-36 - Overall: C+

This will be the cart most people will get for the reason that it has very good AC and very good speed for just a small loss in handling. Indeed, it will do very well on the Easy races and not so well on the other two for obvious reasons (handling). However, the problem with this cart is the fact most people will have it. That means you'll have alot of competition on the Easy races and won't win as often as the 3 : A B A : 44-168-48 since it has much less competition. Competition ain't good when you're looking to be the best!

Easy: Best
Medium: Decent -> Bad
Hard: Horrible
7 : B B A : 48-168-44 - Overall: C-

Same reason as 5 : B A A : 48-180-40, the +4 to AC and -4 to handling just isn't worth it. You'll have finishes that are only decent to bad. You might be able to beat the 3 : A B A : 44-168-48 cart a few times, but not enough to make this a good cart.

Medium: Decent
Hard: Decent -> Good

A Few Words

As I said in one of the cart descriptions, you have to know the stats to succeed. The cart with the highest stats doesn't make it the best cart, nor does simply getting one of the best parts make you a better racer.

Stats

Acceleration is the minimum speed your cart will go. This is the speed you will start the race with, as well as the lowest your cart will slow down when you slow down for a turn.

Speed is the max speed your cart can go and that's it.

Handling determines how much your cart slows down on turns. The more handling you have, the less you slow down. If your handling is high enough, you won't even need to slow down for turns at all. However the chance of that isn't that great (around 30%) so you can't depend on it.

Each 'curve' on a track can range from 1 to 3 times the 'Hardness' of the race which then is compared to your handling. So if the hardness of a race is 30, the actual range is 30-90. If you have a Handling of 48 (Like Xey) that means you have an 18/60 (30%) chance of not slowing down during a curve. Compare that to only have 36 handling which is 6/60 (10%). 20% greater chance with only 12 more handling. And remember, even should you fail that probability, you still will slow down much less than other people with lesser handling.

You can also look at it this way: On the 'Hard' race, lets say there's 3 'curves' on the track again with a hardness of 30. The chance for someone with 48 handling to fail ALL 3 is only .343 (34%) while the chance to fail ALL 3 for someone with only 36 handling is .729 (73%). That means it's very likely that someone with 36 handling will have to slow down for each curve while someone with 48 has a good chance of succeeding atleast one.

All of those stats are not *that* great, I know, but when you look at the big picture it makes a big difference. Cart racing isn't something where you can simply change a setting and gain a few points in some area and therefore every point and every minor detail can make all the difference. When we look at the entire race the person with 48 handling will usually not slow down on one curve and slow down alot less on the remaining two. The person with 36 handling will more than likely have to slow down for all 3 and slow down much more than the person with 48 handling.

Also, with all the best parts, Acceleration only deviates by 4 points so keeping your speed, or atleast not slowing down as much as the rest of the pack, is very important.

Classes

Something else to think about when looking at stats is the racing class you're in. The hardness of a race goes up each time you enter a new class. What this means, exactly, is that certain stats are more important in some classes than others. As the hardness increases, Speed becomes less important and Handling becomes much more important. For example, Xey's cart with stats 44-168-48 is very succesful in later classes versus player's with carts with stats of 48-192-36. However, if they were in class 1, the outcomes would be reversed. Xey would be losing much more often since now the other cart's Handling of 36 is more than enough for the class and they'll have no trouble with curves and since they have more speed and less importantly, more acceleration, they'll nearly always win. (8 hardness with range of 8 to 24 means no curve will slow the cart down since they have 36 handling. Xey's cart won't be slowed down either, but since his speed and acceleration are less, the opposing driver wins.).

Competition

You may ask why not just join easy races since they don't depend as much on Handling. The answer is competition. Most people in this game are going to think the exact same way. They'll get the fastest cart and just join the easy races and ignore the hard ones. Or join them just to use all their tickets. Therefore hard races will be filled with very few people with carts designed for them meaning very little competition which makes it much easier to win in them.
