A little West of the boundary bewtween the Greenwich wards of Woolwich and Peninsula and the Greenwich Yacht Club is a pier complex known locally as "The Steel Jetty" which is being made available by it's landlords "English Heritage" to a group formed under the title of "Thames Maritime Heritage" to plan and produce a riverside project whose basic thrust will be to restore historic boats as a means of preserving boat-building and ship-wrighting skills at this location

Greenwich Peninsula Background

"Greenwich" among other things is a borough of Greater London. Within Greenwich borough's [17] wards the one nearest central London is "Peninsula", probably best known as the location of the O2 Arena (The Dome).
