Thames Maritime Heritage afloat at Greenwich Peninsula

"Greenwich" among other things is a borough of Greater London, with a newly-opened (Feb2009) HQ in Eltham south of the A2 arterial road. Within Greenwich Borough's [17] wards the one nearest central London is "Peninsula", best known for its location of the O2 Arena (The Dome). The "Peninsula" houses the Beckham Football Acadamy  south-east of the 'Dome' and routes the A102 through Blackwall tunnel to the A13 and thus to central London. The "Peninsula" presents more than two miles of it's border to The River. Blackwall Reach is the shore facing Tower hamlets while Bugsby's Reach faces Newham. The "Steel Jetty" protrudes into Bugsby's Reach hard by the Beckham Acadamy
