The schedule for 2009 has been posted under the schedule page.

Outdoor track will begin on February 16, 2009.  Anyone wishing to try out should be dressed and in the home bleachers by 3:25.  Practice will begin at 3:30.  Please dress appropriately: it will probably be cold.

Tryouts will last for the first week.  The first cuts will be made after practice on February 20.  The coaching staff reserves the right to cut athletes at any later date due to attitude or effort.  Athletes will be evaluated on effort and attitude.  Athletes who are participating in winter sports (basketball, wrestling, swimming) are not allowed to try out until the winter season is over and will not be held accountable for practices missed during that season.

Athletes must have a valid physical on file to participate in tryouts.  Forms may be picked up in the front office.  Please do not wait until the last minute.  Plus, students must be in good academic standing according to Ashbrook, Gaston County, and North Carolina standards.

Members of the men’s team have the option to order a compression uniform.  We can order them for $60.  An athlete will be able to use it their entire career.  This is an optional purchase.

Ashbrook Track and Field has a strong tradition of excellence.  We take track and field seriously and expect everyone involved with our program to do so as well.  Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns.
