End to End:- Chris Thompson's attempt

Tragedy

Three days into the record breaking walk and Chris Thompson has had to stop due to injury after damaging his right knee badly twisting his cruciate ligament. Sadly he got rushed into Golspie Hospital, Sutherland, North Scotland about 60miles north of Inverness this means he will not be able to walk for up to three months without the support of crutches and then after that period will not be able to put the knee under great pressure for another couple of months. However he has promised as this means so much to him that he will do the end to end challenge from the beginning next year even if he has to do cycling.

He is hoping to make a full recovery of 100% and still attempt his dream career and earn his place in the elite Parachute regiment.

This website will be kept over and hopefully improved to help others attempt this marathon challenge and to record his progress in his attempt in 2007. It is likely that this will be undertaken by bike, however this means he will be able to increase the mileage and see more of the great British countryside.

He is greatly looking forward to attempting the challenge again.

I would like to say thank you to everybody who helped me when I became injured including Brora healthcare center.

I had managed around about 80miles and was finding the trek easier then I thought I would of and was completely heartbroken that I had to give in so soon. I did not want to give in but I could not risk permanently damaging my right knee.
