Description (from Howard Lowery.com):
WALT DISNEY STUDIO
The Great Mouse Detective (1986)
original production animation drawing
pencil on untrimmed animation sheet, image size: 7" x 8.5"

This original rough animation drawing of Basil and Dr. Dawson was created by a Disney animator in development of a scene in the animated feature based on the story Basil of Baker Street by Eve Titus. It is an animatorís extreme drawing with grid drawn at right. The scene was supervised by animator Steven Gordon, and this is one of his drawings.

Basil and Dawson, disguised as sailors, visit the Rat Trap, a waterfront pub, in pursuit of leads to the whereabouts of Ratigan and his prisoners, Hiram and Olivia Flaversham. When he is ridiculed by patrons of the dive, Dawson declares: "How impertinent!" Basil pulls him away with the cautioning words: "Remember, Dawson...we're low life ruffians!"

The animator wrote the circled number "61" at lower right to mark this original's place in the scene and Basil's word of dialogue at top: "remembe." Our certificate of authenticity is included.

There is light handling: FINE condition.
