Description (from Howard Lowery.com):
WALT DISNEY STUDIO
The Great Mouse Detective (1986)
two (2) original production animation drawings
blue pencil on two (2) animation sheets, image sizes: 3" x 3" and 2.5" x 3.5"
These two (2) original rough animation drawings of Basil of Baker Street and Dr. Dawson, bound in Ratigan's fiendish device designed to bring about their demise in multiple ingenious ways, were created by supervising Disney animator Hendel Butoy in development of two scenes in the animated feature. The drawing of Dawson is from the scene in which he tries to rouse Basil from his fatalistic musings: "Dash it all, Basil, the Queen's in danger..." That of Basil is from the later scene in which he tells his compatriot "Dawson, at the exact moment I tell you we must release the triggering mechanism." Both are animator's extreme drawings, with grids at right, by Mr. Butoy, who supervised the entire "escape" sequence. The character's words of dialogue are written at right ("Basil" and "exact"), and the designations "29" and "B-29" are written at lower right to indicate each original's place in the scene. Our certificate of authenticity is included.
There is light handling; small section cut from bottom edge of one is well away from the drawing: VERY FINE condition.
