We currently stand 2 stallions, VF Burrs Eye AQHA a 5-State Breeders Barrel Futurity nominated stallion & Painted EterniTe APHA (for sale/lease).
Our breeding program is based on VF Burrs Eye. He was purchased from Victory Farms in Ada OK. We believe he is the perfect stallion-one with excellent bone, a wonderful disposition, a stand-out pedigree and great conformation. "Vegas" is truly an amazing horse with more heart than anything I've ever ridden. We enjoyed using him for all phases of ranch work, earned money barrel racing, team penning & went to weekend ropings. In 2005 we entered our 1st futurity for both of us-the Speedhorse Silver Cup in Tulsa, OK. He ran well, a little green, but with a ton of promise for the upcoming futurities.
After running 1D & 2D times at a few barrel races after getting back from Tulsa, Vegas came up lame after falling during a practice run at home. With rest he didn't recover so we had x-rays done. The x-rays showed calcium build-up around his knee joint and extensive cartiledge damage. Our Vet believed this was a pre-existing injury, perhaps from galloping as a long yearling (he never officially started on the track). We made the difficult decision to retire him to stud and prevent further damage to his knee. We felt this was the best thing we could do for him since he owed us nothing. We wish for him to live a long successful life at stud. He is so gentle, a small child could ride him. We have purchased our mares to compliment him in both bloodlines, conformation and equally gentle dispositions. Our next foal crop should be outstanding as we have added some new race bred mares to the group.
We put a huge emphasis on disposition and trainability. Most of our broodmares and stallions have been used extensivly on the ranch. They have bloodlines proven on the track, barrel arena, roping pen, etc. We do not put stress on raising colored horses, but do have a few in the fancier shades! Our broodmares come up to us in pasture as do most of the foals. We believe this comes from the dispositions we strive for in our breeding program. We are proud to say in just the few small crops we've raised we have had horses go to MT, NE, SD, OK, MI, UT, WY & CO.
Please look around at what we have to offer. Please call or email with any questions. All of our prices are subject to change without notice. If I'm busy riding it's hard to find time to update the site. We will try to put the right horse with the right person so everyone is happy! If we don't have one, we may know someone who does, so feel free to ask. Respectfully, Brian & Krystal Peterson
