Caught In the Avalanche

Several members of the Colorado Avalanche participated in a charity event called St. Baldrick's. They all stepped up to the plate and got their heads shaved in the name of childhood cancer research, a very worthy cause. One of the main players involved in organizing this was the Sheriff, Scott Parker. Parker, who had his beard since he was fifteen years old agreed to not only shave his head, but his beard as well! Scott also got many of his teammates and one of his coaches to shave their heads including: John-Michael Liles, Ben Guite, Ian Laperriere, Tony Granato, Kurt Sauer, Andrew Brunette, Jeff Finger, Paul Stastny, Cody McCormick, Cody McLeod, David Jones, Wojtek Wolski, Peter Budaj, Adam Foote, and Kyle Cumiskey. I was able to attend this event and took lots of pictures. If you are in Colorado, you may have already seen footage from this event on Avalanche Alert on Altitude.

The Avs played divisional rivals, the Vancouver Canucks on March 4th. This marked Peter Forsberg's first game for his second stint as a member of the Avs. The team played well and defeated the Nucks 2-1. The goals came from Paul Stastny and the game winner was from John-Michael Liles (his first since early November). There's a lot of pictures, so I will include a few here and then a link to the rest.

Okay so for this game, I got cheap $20 tickets on the day of the game courtesy of Altitude. Due to a crazy, heavy snowstorm that created whiteout conditions on the way to the game, I wasn't able to make it for the pre-game skate. I didn't take a whole lot of pictures but I'll share a few anyway. The game was great and the Avs won 6-3.

Here's a few of the pictures I took when the Avs faced off against the Detroit Red Wings on December 27th, 2007. The Avs lost 4-2 after the Wings scored an empty net goal, but they played pretty well.
