Our Activities



We focus on all the THREE AREAS of the program:

~ Care and Concern for the Environment

~ Care and Concern for Animals    

~ Care and Concern for Human community

                                               

While three projects are encouraged (one from each of the three areas), the best projects are often ones that focuses on more than one area of the program (e.g benefit the local community while helping animals and/or the environment.)

Our program is a participatory program that provides an excellent opportunity for young people in our different communities to experience active citizenship and environmental stewardship in the schools and the community. It brings many benefits both to schools and the wider community.

We encourage members to use their new environmental knowledge on environmental issues they experience in their everyday life at school and in the community. This helps the members to see the relevance of what they learn in their everyday life. Amongs many, these are some of the activities carried out by our organisation:

Increased Environmental Awareness: We continue to provide environmental education to students, members of the community through our meetings, workshops and printed educative materials and virtual networks.

Involvement in Local Community: Our program is a grassroots initiative and we are working with the local authorities, organisations who have expertise in the area of environmental management and will be will to cooperate with us in ensuring a more sustainable community. The end result is a more integrated community.

                           

Youth Involvement: Through a non-confrontational, non-violent process, young people take control of their own environment, learning and taking desicions about how to improve both their home, school and community environments. Through this we have learn about:

                The key issues of the environment

                To develop positive attitudes and commitment to the environment

Actively participate in resolving environmental problems at local and national levels.

Set good examples to the community both inside and outside schools.
