mike's ACRYLIC PAINTINGS

A SAMPLING OF ACRYLIC PAINTINGS BY MIKE

Mike's acrylic paintings are supported on masonite canvass or hardboard.  They run in size from about 4"x6" to a maximum dimension of about 36"  The works shown on this page may not all be available for sale at their original size or in the acrylic medium.  Many have been reproduced ass small [4"x8"]original watercolor plaques.

 99-05 emerging cellist

The dimensions of this painting is 24"x12".   It is painted on masonite.

horizontal format is also available:

The following painting demonstrates the interaction possible between food and music:

99-04 APPLE, PEAR, & ORANGE  GUITARS

This painting is the same size as the previous one  and is also done on masonite.  Like most of  the other acrylics, it is also can be available as an original water color [4"x8"] plaque.

                                    99-03 THREE STRINGS & A LUTE

This original painting is also available as a water color plaque i n the horizontal format. Notice the common parts of the instruments.  The small original plaques that can be created from these acrylics are great for decorating small areas.

HOW ABOUT A LITTLE MORE MUSICAL STUFF? [don't answer]

This next masterpiece of Mike's combines the an assortment of musical instruments and the people who play them, in a rather unique setting.

02-01 ON THE 8TH DAY, GOD CREATED MUSIC - This  is an acrylic on canvas painting having the dimensions of 24"x36".  Mike has used many of the figures in this painting as individualo figures in his 4"x8"water color plaques.

WE EXHIBIT & SELL MOST OF OUR WORK IN SAN FRANCISCO, CA:

99-24 SAN FRANCISCO IN A WINE GLASS - Here it is!  The wine conneseuers[?] view of San  Francisco. The entire city from[ the Oakland Bay Bridge on the left to the Golden Gate Bridge on the right. [ Another acrylic painting on masonite.]

It's a lot of fun to sell our work on week ends at Fisherman's Wharf, near the cable car turn around at Beach and Hyde Street, when the weather is nice.  At the end of the day, its also great to return home.

TAKE A LOOK AT THIS! IT MIGHT BE SOMEONE'S VICTORIAN HOUSE.

San francisco and the bay area has many houses constructed during the Victorian Era.  The next picture is what Mike thinks one should look like:

 03-03 HOMECOMING DAY

In order to create the texture he wanted, Mike mixed the paints and varnish with sand to give the picture a texture it would not otherwise have.  The picture was given this title because of the ghost going up the stairs toward the front doors. Stick around, a few more pictures and you will be done with this page. I bet you thought it would never happen!

TWO MORE PAINTINGS WITH MUSICAL THEMES:

With a little bit of help many musical instruments can play themselves or other instruments:

99-15 LUTE & GUITAR WITH HANDS

                                              99-19 SELF-PLAYING MUSICAL FRUIT

This painting  was featured on the poster for a two-person gallery show featuring the work of Mike & Margaret and also was hung in the show.
