The Foulkes Foundation invites applications for Fellowships from recently qualified  scientists and medical graduates.  Applicants should have a PhD or equivalent  degree or research ability and should intend to contribute to medical research.  Funds medics to study for a PhD or those with a PhD to study medicine.  6-8 awards made annually, tenable for up to 3 years.

MEDICAL WOMEN’S FEDERATION

Small grants are awarded annually to mature (i.e. 2nd degree and ineligible for local authority funding) female medical students. These grants may be applied for each year, but the federation makes no commitment to continued funding. Conversely, an unsuccessful application should not deter you from re-applying in subsequent years.

To receive an application form please send a stamped SAE to MWF Central Office, Tavistock House North, Tavistock Square, London WC1H 9HX. Closing date for completed applications is strictly 31st May 2004. Successful applicants are normally notified by July.

BMA MEDICAL EDUCATION TRUST

The BMA Medical Education Trust invites funding applications from Home students reading medicine as a second degree for help in their clinical years. Applications are taken an academic year in advance of awards being made. Students eligible to apply for the NHS bursary should not apply. Application packs are available from the beginning of November, and forms must be returned by the following 31 January.
