When we're looking for more information about science fiction and fantasy topics, we can also point to Tolkien Studies on the Web, a resource that helps fans of J.R.R. Tolkien who are interested in learning more about his fictional worlds and mythologies find useful and reliable resources on the Internet.

Organized by Tolkien scholar Michael Martinez, Tolkien Studies on the Web includes Web site reviews, tips on doing online Tolkien research, a Tolkien Webliography, and a directory of Tolkien class descriptions from Universities on the Web.

Michael Martinez rose to prominence in the Tolkien scholarly community by publishing numerous Tolkien essays at Suite101, MERP, and other online Tolkien essay archives. Martinez has spear-headed Tolkien studies and research into the multiple mythologies that J.R.R. Tolkien created, including the world-famous Middle-earth mythology and the Mythology for England (now published as the two volume Book of Lost Tales).

You can also check out Jeff Cable's J.R.R. Tolkien - Lord of the Rings Web site. L.O.T.R. has essays about balrogs, dragons, elves, hobbits, and Tolkien scholars.
