Within his first month in Walford he had loved and left half of Walford's women: Kat, Sam, Joanne, Kate and Tracy the barmiad to name but a few. It seemed that he wasn't one for commitment or serious relationships, but that was soon to change. He began to gain strong feelings for his half sister Sharon, she was a kind and caring person, and Dennis had never really met anyone like this in his life. At first when he told Sharon how he felt she completyl refused to believe that they could be anything more than brother and sister. They had one night of passion, but that came to an abrupt end when dad Den returned.
Den found it hard accept Dennis as his son, the pair just didnt get on and they had numerous rows and fights, but eventaully the pair came to a mutual understanding. When Den went away to Spain for a few months Sharon and Dennis started their passionate affair, they went public but Vicky and half of Walford were ashamed of their relationship and considered wrong, but the pair continuley defended themselves by saying they werent blood related. Sharon was the only person that Dennis had ever truely loved, but their hapiness was not to last long when Den returned he was determined to stop their incestious relationship. Den threateneded to not love Dennis if he carried on, and used numerous mind games to break Dennis down.
Dennis' dark past was revealed when Den touched on the subject of his childhood, it turned out that Dennis had been pushed from carehome to carehome and has suffered at the hands of his carers. At a young age hed been abused by his carers and was introduced to the criminal underworld of London. He was taken on by London crimelord Jack Dalton, who had always been fond of him, however in 03 the pair had a confrontation and Dennis ended up shooting him dead, he luckily managed to survive iuntergrations from the police and a greiving Andy Hunter. To be true Andy was thankful that his boss had been shot dead, he was now the boss, and so he was grateful to Dennis and the pair became very close friends, one of few that Dennis had in Walford.
Regardless of Den's dissaproval to Sharon and Dennis' Relationship, Sharon confessed to Dennis in late 04 that she loved him and didnt care about what anyone said. There was however a major complication by this point, Dennis had started dating Zoe Slater and he was dtermined to get Sharon out of his mind. For months he was torn between the complicated love of his life, or the beutiful easy option. He finally decided that it was Sharon he wanted to be with and on christmas day 04 the pair confessed their love for each other to their family. Den was furious and told Zoe to lie to Dennis that she was pregnant. Dennis knew he had to stay with Zoe, and he was heatrbroken when Sharon left Walford without him.
Dennis later found Zoe in bed with Den, and realised that her "pregnancy" was a pack of lies. He left Walford and headed for America in search of Sharon. The pair returned to Walford in June happily in love, and ready to confornt Den. As far as Dennis is concerned it's only a flying visit but Sharon's heart belongs in Walford and she wants to stay here.
