I've found out about GPT ("Get Paid To") sites mid-February. Since then, I have made over $900 - from home!

Of course, it's difficult to first start if you don't understand it. I assumed there was a catch but after some research, I realized that it was a legit form of advertising that has become quite popular recently.

Why am I getting paid? How can GPT sites afford to pay me?
Your information is worth money to businesses. Why? So they can send you offers through the mail / e-mail / phone hoping that you might be their new paying customer! This is a cheaper form of advertisement for them. So basically they're buying your e-mail address among other info (this is why you should get a separate email address and phone number just these offers). GPT sites make money from your participation, BUT give you back a percentage of it.

First off, do NOT use AOL or Netscape browsers to access these sites! Doing so may cause the system to show that you have multiple IP addresses/accounts and you will be deleted. Use Internet Explorer or Firefox. NO proxy servers!

To begin:

(1) Read the site's terms and conditions!

(2) All sites require you to use real info. Use a nickname (I use "Meg" for "Megan") if you want to distinguish from "real" mail. Use the #1 and #2 from "Tips and Hints" below (private phone and 10 minute mail). #1 Rule: DO NOT use false information!! Advertisers may pull their offers, and GPT sites will delete your account and all your earnings will be forfeited.

(3) Only ONE member per IP address (at the same place where you sign up). So it's safer to sign up at home than at work. YOU MUST SIGN IN AT THE SAME PLACE EACH TIME. So don't attempt to do any at work when you signed up at home.

(4) You cannot complete the same offers at different sites!! It's considered fraud and it's a major violation.

(5) NEVER give your Social Security number!!

What is involved?

Admittedly, the process is tedious. You mostly just fill out forms (name, address, e-mail, phone number, and birthday), and have to click the "no" option a lot of times to other offers. However, the overall process is VERY EASY. You DO NOT have to say yes to any other offers offered and never have to sign up for anything else or give any further information.

Once you finish the offer, submit it.

"E-mail and zip submits" are the easiest - as implied, you only have to submit one or the other (which ever one they request) and that's all! Never do too many in a row (one from each company is best) to ensure credit.

FAQ

(1) Who can join?
Anyone over 13 years old and in the United States and with some sites, Canada. However most offers require you to be at least 18 years old.

(2) How much time is required?
You do this when you have spare time. You could do an hour a day, a week or even a month. Your cashout will depend on how much time you devote to it.

(3) How much junk mail and spam emails do I get?
- You will get a lot, that's why you need to create new Yahoo or Gmail addresses that you use JUST for these offers.
- Telemarketers call the "voice mail" number so you can listen to the messages or delete them at your leisure.
- You may get some junk mail but barely, most sites prefer e-mail so it doesn't cost them anything.

(4) Why do freebie offers ask me to sign up for other offers? Do I have to do them?
Most freebies will ask you to complete several offers to continue. But DO NOT do this. These are freebies so anything they ask you to complete, you can just skip or say "no."

(5) I just did an offer, why is it in "pending"? When will it credit?
It depends on the site and on the advertiser of that offer. It could be less than 5 minutes to a couple of hours to days. With every GPT site, if after 7 days and no credit, you can alway re-submit the information (for freebies) or submit a support ticket to the admin (for trials). Unfortunately, offers do get denied in which case you'll need to start a "support ticket" to ask them to reset them (such as on DBP). You can try them again with the same e-mail or try another. I recommend trying at least once with the same e-mail and re-submitting (you don't need to go all the way to the end the second time around, just put in your e-mail and re-submit them on the Get-Paid site).

(6) How do I get paid?
Common payment methods are by check or Paypal. When minimum is met (monthly for MPC and DPB) or balance (like Cash Lagoon), you'll have to request to get paid. It's referred to as "cashout" or "withdraw."

(7) When am I paid?
With most sites, you get paid the following month for previous month's activity. Most require you to cashout before midnight EST on the LAST day of the month (eg. cashout by Nov 30 to get paid Dec 20), however check with your sites' terms.

Tips and Hints:

(1) Sign up for a free phone number at Voicemail4free -- always use THIS phone number for offers.

(2) Use Yahoo, or Gmail for your e-mail address on FREE offers (never use this for trial offers, keep all information for those).

.... otherwise you WILL get a lot of phone calls and you WILL get spam!!

(3) Accept all cookies!
For Internet Explorer (IE): Go to the "Tools" menu (at the top of your browser window) > "Internet Options" > "Privacy" and move the "Settings" bar to the very bottom.

For Mozilla Firefox: Go to the "Tools" menu > "Options" > "Privacy" icon (in the left panel) > Check the box corresponding to "Allow sites to set cookies" >Click "OK" to save changes.

(4) You should delete cookies after every offer to ensure they credit. To do this, click on Tools > Internet Options > Delete your cookies (BUT deleting ALL cookies will log you out automatically every time).

Or you could download www.ccleaner.com [IE] or https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/82/ [Firefox]

(5) Don't use the same email for more than one offer from the same company.

(6) Don't complete a large number of related offers in a short time span (sometimes you should only do one once a day or even wait for once a week).

Q: At what point do you use the created mail address?
A: I should make a note of that. When signing up for the GPT sites themselves, use a legit e-mail address. You rarely get e-mails from them. The only times I get e-mails from DealBarbie are when I cashout and they approve the payment. Cash Lagoon, however, will send you more e-mails - every time you complete an offer and when it's approved/disapproved, and if any of your referrals' offers are approved (I'm not sure if you can opt-out of them, but I find them useful since I don't go on the site every day).

The ONLY time to use those created accounts is for the FREE offers themselves! Any of the sites you want to log in to or any trials, use an e-mail address you can access! Use the same mail address for around 5-10 offers (from different companies) then switch to a new one! I tend to delete the account within a month of creating it, but not immediately, since new offers appear that I can still use the e-mail for.

Q: I think that I would just get another email address through gmail or hotmail and use that, what do you suggest?
A: I actually use my AOL account for the GPT sites, but I know some people prefer to create a whole new gmail/hotmail/yahoo account just for them, so any of those work too! You will need to verify each account (Cash Lagoon, MPC, DBP, etc) so make sure to check your e-mail after signing up!

Q: Also how does it get to your PayPal account? Do you have to give them your account number, email address?
A: To be paid via Paypal, you give them whatever e-mail address is associated with you Paypal account - NOT your bank information!

Q: Also, how long have you been doing it? I know that you said that you have made about $700 already, that's pretty cool!
A: I started in mid-February, and have made about $700 - about $150 from trials, the rest from freebies. Your first month provides you with the best chance to make the most -- specifically, DBP, so check the contest going on before doing any offers! [do the "$3.50 for every 10 offers" to make the most]

Edit: April 2009, I've made over $1,500 now.

Example:

1. Click an offer, example on DBP, "SaveAndSmile - Childrens Place"

2. Put in your (yahoo, gmail, etc) e-mail address. Click submit (or "click here to continue")

3. Fill in your information. Name, address, voice mail phone number, birthday, etc. Some since sites do send junk mail to your home, I use "Meg" for all these offers instead of "Megan" so I immediately know when it's junk.

4. Say "no" or "skip" to all the offers. Sometimes they require you to pick one, so find one that is free (just in case), then continue.. then on the next page (when that offer appears) say no or skip. You must skip, if you submit, you may end up signing up for something (could be free or a trial). No worries though, most won't go through fully without a credit card so NEVER give that!

5. Some sites only require you to go through a couple of the pages, but I tend to always go to the end. By the end, it'll say "Last Steps!" with red line across. Sometimes they require you to click an offer, but you don't need to sign up for anything. Just cancel out.

...some of these you just need to see what works. Even though there's a page with yes/no on them, you don't always need to click them all. Just change all but one of the "yes" to "no" and see if it works. I very rarely read them anymore, I just say no.

At first it's incredibly frustrating but once you realize what to expect, it's easy. (For example, I keep my right hand on my mouse and my left finger on the "end" button on the keyboard - since a lot of "skip" buttons are down there).

I hope that explains it!

Offers - different names, same companies:

credit

Some offers have different names, but they are all part of the same "family" so different e-mail addresses are needed to get them approved. This is important to recognize, as it will save you a lot of time from completing offers that won't credit without using a new e-mail address!

Username info: Once you choose a username ("lovemoe" for me), you cannot change it! So use something easy for you to remember and something you will stick with!

Verifying info: Cash Lagoon & Deal Barbie call you to verify your information before being paid. I recommend using your "normal" (home or cell) phone number for them to ensure you get these calls, otherwise you won't be paid! Spare Stash will require phone verification AND e-mail a copy of your ID (just name/address, the rest can be blacked out).
