PHIL MITCHELL PLAYED BY STEVE MCFADDEN
D.O.B: 20.01.1961
On Screen Arrival: 20.02.1990
Occupation: In Custody
Residence: Unkown
Phil Mitchell is the eldest of the Mitchell children, and one half of the menacing Mitchell brothers. Since his arrival in 1990 Phil has been the centre of many Storylines, and has become one of Eastender's biggest and most popular villains. Phil came to Walford with his younger Grant in 1990, the pair of mechnaics brought the Arches and that was the site for many a dodgy deal. The pair get themselves involved in numerous petty crimes, and were well and truely dodgy. They stirred up trouble from day one in Walford, and didnt make themselves popular with residents.
Within two years of being in Walford he began a passionate on/off affair with Grant's wife Sharon, it would turn out to be one of Eastenders biggest and most memorbale affairs in it's 20 year history. Sharon saw Phil as the good side of Phil without all the bad points, and she often doubted that shed married the right brother. But never pulled up the courage to tell Grant and so it kept secret for numerous years. During this time he married a Romanian refugee called Nadia in exchange for a large amount of money, for him it was a marriage of convience but Nadia saw it otherwise and would cause trouble in the future when Phil started to date Kathy Beale. The pair seemd to love each other but she thought otherwise when Phil confessed to his envolvemtn in the Car Lot Fire that killed an innocent homeless person. However following a short break one, not the first, Phil proposed to Kathy in a drunken moment, and to his surprise she excepted.
During their engadgemt party in a crowded Vic, the sharongate storyline came to a shocking and explosive end in 1994. Grant played the tape of Sharon confessing, and as a result Kathy slapped Sharon and ended their relationship, and Grant ended up hospitalsing Phil after throwing him into the examiantion pit at the Arches during a big fight. To Phil's delight Kathy finally forgave him and the pair eventually married, and Kathy then gave birth to their first child who they called Ben. Soon enough Phil found it hard to cope with Kathy's lack attention, and got jealous of the amount of time she spent with Ben, Phil resulted in hitting the bottle and ended up becoming a full on alcholic. He edned up upsetting everyone and having an affair with another drunk called Lorna. Kathy had had enough of Phil and in a gripping episode in Paris, she ended their marriage and asked for a divorce.
Kathy left to go to South Africa with brother Ted, and she took Ben with her. Phil found it hard to cope and kept on drinking heavily and upseeting everyone in Walford, over the next few years Phil would make enemies out of everyone. None more so than market inspectyor Lisa Shaw, she was uttelry devoted to jhim and totally in love, and when she told him she was expecting his child he told her to abort it. A gluttne for punishment Lisa fell in love with Phil and the pair got together, soon after the baby aborted. Phil semed to enjoy to make her life hell but Lisa kept on being with him, she soon found out she was expecting his child, again, but was heartbroken when she learnt that he had slept with best friend Mel the previosu Christmas. By this pooint Phil seemed to have made many enemies: Ian Beale, Dan Sullivan, Mark Fowler, Steve Owen and Mel Healey to name but a few, and when he was shot on his doorstep in 2001 everyone was a suspect, the shooter did however, turn out to be Lisa after all.
When Lisa gave boirth to his child Lousie, she made out it to be Mark Fowlers, and when Phil learnt the truth a grusome feud and custody battle went on between the two. Lisa fled walford with Lousie, and a few months later he returned with Lousie, everyone mainly Sonia suspected that he had killed Louise in Portugal. DCI Marsden, who had hated Phil since day one got undercover cop Kate Morton to investigate Lisa disspearance. She got close to Phil and he finally confessed that Lisa was alive, when he found out Kate had been lying to him he split up with her. However a few months later when he relaised that gangster Jack Dalton was going to kill her, he saved her and proposed to her. The pair got married and he promised he would never break the law again.
Promises are made to me broken after all and when Lisa returned for Lousie at the wedding reception, their feud began once more. Lisa was determined to shoot him once more, but Phil's ex love Sharon got dad Den to talk her out of it. Instead Den promised her that he'd get Louis eback for her and Phil out of the way. Den got Phil to help him with an armed robbery, but then he escpaed and framed Phil for it all. Whilst at the polcie station Lisa fled with Lousie, and then Kate annonced that their marraige was over. A broken Phil went on the run at xmas 03, but not after having a showdown with Den and Dennis, this began the contuning Watts vs Mitchells feud. Phil had been on the run ever since but returned to Walford earlier this year for some money to flee the country, his arch enemy Ian Beale grassed him up to the policea dn he got arrested, and could well be going down for a long time...or maybe not as Eastender's number one bad guy returns this autumn!

GRANT MITCHELL PLAYED BY ROSS KEMP
D.O.B: 08.07.1962
On Screen Arrival: 22.02.1990
Occupation: Former Publican
Residence: Rio, Brazil
Grant is Phil's youngest brother and the other half of the legendary Mitchell brothers. Grant has always been a serial womaniser and a phycopath. He was a soldier in the Falklands war and expericned traumatic things from it and has never been right since, he has had countless nightmates and were effected by it badly, he uses the to explain his violent tempers and unlawful behavioiur. When Grant arrived in Walford back in 1990 with brother Phil, they brought the Arches and aswell as being mechanics they dabbled into petty crimes and various dodgy dealings.
Grant made himself unpopular with many of the residents of Walford, but one person who caught his eye was Queen Vic barmiad Sharon Watts. The pair hit it off from day one, and on Boxing Day 1991 the pair got married. When Eddie Royal was killed Grant was one of the main suspects, he was later cleared and the Vic was now up for sale. Grant brought the pub as a present for sharon, but he couldnt be a landlord becuase of licensing difficultires because of him being in prison before, therefore Sharon was the landlady of the Queen Vic. Their happy marraige didnt last long as by 92 the pair were having arguments and Grant was beating up Sharon on a regular basis.
It was no wonder that Sharon turned to brother Phil, the pair began an on/off affair that lasted for over 2 years without Grant knowing. The relationship heated up when Grant was sent to prison, after the police walked in during a punch up. Grant returned a new man, and Sharon fell for him once more but this wasnt to last. At the beginning of 94 an old mate of Grant's from the army called Dougie Briggs held a seige at the Queen Vic in which Sharon's life was put in jeopardy. Later on in the year Grant was driving in his car, he put a tape in the machine and heard Sharon confess to an affair with Phil. A heart and vengeful Grant walked into a packed Vic and played the tape to everyone. Later on he beat up Phil, and pushed him into the pit at the Arches. "Sharongate" had split the Mitchell family in two. He humilated Sharon and she fled Walford in distress.
After another breif entrance and exit from Sharon Grant moved on in the love department. He had a one night stand with Tiffany Raymond, but they decided to levae it at that, until she came back telling him she was pregnant with his child, altough it would well have been Tony Hills. Grant qucikly married her, beat her up and chucked her out for possibly cheating on her, which was very hypocritical considering that he was having an affair with Lorraine Wicks. He took her back after daughter Caughney was born but he continued to make her life hell by betaing her up, arguing with her, and having an affair with her mother Louise Raymond. By the time that Tiffany was run down and killed by Frank Butcher, the whole nation agreed that she was best of out of it.
In his last year in the square he slept with Nina Harris, beat up a social worker, and surprise surprise was generally a violent ape. He slept with Kathy, perhaps a delayed revenge for "Sharongate". He got involved in a robbery with Phil and as they were speeding away Phil confonted him about it and in rage shout at the dashboard, the car crashed into the Thames, and only Phil emerged. Everyone thought Grant was dead, but the he turned up and left with Courtney for Rio, never to return again, or so we thought, as Grant "Puppy Dog Eyes" Mitchell returns this autumn to Albert Square!

When the loud mouthed and insensitive Slater clan arrived back in 2000 it was clear that Charlie’s youngest daughter Mo was different from the rest of her family. Mo was named after her grandmother Mo Harris, and so her family affectionately called her “Little Mo”. She was kind, sensitive and very timid. Her first scene summed up Mo, she was prepared to sit in the back of a removal van so as the others could have a comfortable ride. However none of her family realised was she was so timid and scared, as behind closed doors Little Mo was a victim of domestic violence. She was married to the evil wife beating Trevor Morgan, who beat, abused and raped her for over two years.
Being the kind of person to see the best in everyone Little Mo continually forgave Trevor for his actions and kept on having him back, despite her entire family telling her not to. Little Mo finally realised the extent of Trevor’s evil and on news years eve 2001, she attacked him with an iron. Trevor prosecuted and Little Mo was sent to prison. When Little Mo was freed she washed her hands of Trevor all together and got closer and closer to her best friend Billy Mitchell. Their friendship finally blossomed into romance and Billy proposed to Mo with alphabet spaghetti. Everyone was pleased for them accept Trevor. Little Mo’s crazed ex kidnapped her and set fire to the Slater’s house with them both in it during the Halloween house fire of 02. Little Mo survived the blaze and Trevor died.
With Trevor out of the picture, Little Mo and Billy got married on Christmas day 02. It was clear that they loved each very much and that they were the real deal. Little Mo considered Billy the love of her life. They were happily married for a year, they planned to leave the Slater home and start a family of their own. However their plans were dashed when Little Mo was violently raped by Vic regular Graham Foster. He had befriended her for weeks and in December 03 he raped her. This put strains on her relationship with Billy and he couldn’t live bringing up a rapists baby.
Over time Billy’s parental difficulties with Freddie were too much for Mo to handle, and the pair eventually decided to call a day on their marriage.
