My Work Info

What does it pay to be an extension worker?
It is a great thing to be an extension worker. I have been to it fro five years and have taken myself the details of my own journey to community development. I had so much of the struggles, the difficulties, the excitement, the failures and disappointment, successes and triumphs that go with it. In my vocation as a community development worker, I had accepted and done the responsibility of helping and reaching out underprivileged and marginal people make the journey as interesting and as rewarding as possible. My work is not to provide personal services but to work with people and teach them how to do things for themselves by providing the needed technical information and skill and let the people get on with the job.

Presently, I am now in the second phase of implementing the project “Developing Local Agricultural Productivity for Food and Economic Security”, an initiative of the Phil-Canada Local Governance Support Program in ARMM (LGSPA). My role here being a project manager is to provide assistance through technical advice and coaching in the continuing implementation of the LAD mechanism and management of agricultural demonstration or pilot projects in the municipality of Marantao, Balindong, Tugaya, Bacolod-Kalawi and Madalum.
