Gotham Synchro is a comprehensive synchronized swim program which partners with several organizations in order to offer lessons and a competitive team to swimmers of all ages in New York City, Westchester County, Northern New Jersey and Rockland County. Members of the Aquamasters and Gotham Coaches will be performing at the Wednesday night rooftop pool parties at Soho House this summer. Membership is exclusive, but if you can get an invitation, it will be place to be seen in the summer of 2009.
Summer Classes to Begin Soon
Our competitive season is almost over; and our Gotham Swimmers made major achievements this year.
All of our swimmers showed marked improvements in their figures and fitness levels; and had alot of fun doing it!
Some specifiic achievements include:
All of our intermediate swimmers qualified for the East Zone Championships this year.
Our Age Group 10&U Duet and Soloist both earned silver medals at the Region B Championships and are heading to the East Zone Championships on June 6th.
Our Age Group 13-15 Soloist was 4th in Free routines and 5th overall and qualified for the Age Group National Championships in Gainesville, FL on June 30th.
Youth swimmers who may be considering competition for next year; summertime is a great time to learn the basic skills needed for competition. Our current team members did really well in competition this year, and we are looking for some strong, dedicated new swimmers who are willing to work really hard, and take on the challenge of trying to swim with our veteran swimmers.
Adult swimmers should be aware that the Masters team is planning on attending the FINA International Competition next Summer in Sweden. So, if you are interested in going to Sweden with us, this is a great time to start learning the routines that we plan to swim in international competition next year.
High ambitions aside, the philosophy at Gotham is that we enjoy swimming and we want to share the joy we have in the water. While some of our swimmers are quite serious about competition, most of our swimmers use synchro as a stress reliever from work and school and a way to stay in shape while having fun.
Gotham is about learning new skills, it is never too late to sign up for classes whether you are a beginners, intermediate and advanced swimmer.
Those of you interested in competition (adults and kids), contact the head coach to find out how you can try out for the competitive team.
Coaches: Our program is growing daily. We are seeking volunteer coaches for all our programs, and building up a roster of new coaches to work with our various programs as our organization grows. We also train new coaches, judges and teachers. Contact the head coach if you are interested.
Event Coordinators: Because we have a large roster of adult swimmers, Gotham swimmers are available to perform for special events. Please contact he head coach for more information.

Competition
Gotham is currently recruiting both children and adults who are interested in participating on a competitve team.
The children's team practices Sundays in Manhattan, Mondays & Fridays in the Bronx, and Wednesdays in Yonkers & Saturdays in White Plains. Click here to send an email to the coach for more information on the children's team.

Lessons
Lessons are currently available at 5 locations: The Bronx, Manhattan, New Jersey, Rockland and White Plains. Click on the location on the Navigation bar to the left for more information. Private lessons may also be arranged. Classes are open for swimmers ages 6 to adult. Private lessons may be arranged for younger swimmers. Swimmers must able to swim at least 25 yards (one length of the pool) and feel comfortable in deep water and under water.
