Welcome to Shallowford Shorthairs.......

...and welcome to our site!  We created this to help YOU get an idea what kind of family you are considering a puppy from.  We are located on an acre in gorgeous Boonville, North Carolina.  We are a large family, mostly of the furry kind. 

We raise German Shorthaired Pointers and they share their domain with a few rescue mutts as well.  All of them live a very spoiled life.  The dogs and the puppies that we raise, and that own us, are always underfoot.  The puppies are very socialized from day one.  Handling/proper socialization is something we think is very important, especially for a dog that will weigh at least 50lbs when full grown. 

Hunting prospect puppies are sure to please!  We feel that you cannot go wrong with our lines.  We select sires for our litters very carefully, to ensure that the instinct/drive is strong. We make sure we do the best we can to compliment our lines, and create a desireable, functional gun dog.   

We feel that each puppy is termed a "family pet" first, hunting companion 2nd.  In our experiences, and other breeders we have befriended, we've found that these puppies function better as both a hunter and companion when they are an integral part of their family.
