On a hot August day I was introduced to the California Bowl , Sushi being one of her favorite foods she was excited to take me to one of her favorite places. I am always ready to try new places but I am very picky after being in the industry for so long. I walk in and it's a casual place you walk up and look at the menu over the register and place your order.  I think we have been there four times already, just about anytime we are in the area we find ourselves being pulled there. We sit and talk and laugh which gives me hope for their success and our own. Go in and try, I will give no recommendations on what you should order because every time I have been there I have been happy. So go and enjoy !!

For you guys that like Barbecue this is the first place that comes to mind. It is in Burbank and it is awesome. I went to meet up with some friends and I actually got lost because I was looking for a big sign and huge restaurant. When I actually saw the place I was shocked. It is not that big at all and there are peanut shells on the floor. I sat and ordered a Big Brain Combo, which is half a slab of both beef and spare ribs with two sides. I ordered the macaroni and cheese and cole slaw. The meat simply fell off the bone as I started to eat.  I enjoyed being in such a casual place, just being able to laugh and hang out with friends although I do suggest getting a bib. Now when my friends and I think about barbecue that's the first place that comes to mind. Then when you have made a mess of yourself and your stuffed take a few heated wet naps and wash away the sauce from your face and grab your left overs and any corn bread that is left and go home to digest ...good eats ladies and gentlemen

THE BEAR PIT Mission Hills

My cousin and I were Hungary and couldn't decide where to go. Since we where in the area and not looking for take out we decided to go to the Bear Pit. We walk in and lets just say we weren't given a warm reception. Usually I would leave when faced with such a lack of hospitality but we we're both Hungary and decided just to stay. Our waitress greeted us and she was very warm and friendly, came to the table with a big smile and even cracking jokes. At that point we both began to feel better about eating there. I had the Spare Ribs and my cousin had the Beef Ribs. Both are soaked in barbecue sauce and very messy to eat but they are a great meal. With garlic toast, barbecue beans and Cole Slaw we both had our fill. I recommend this place if you looking to eat something filling have a few beer and just hang out.

Shogun Shushi Reseda

My first time there I really wasn't sure if we were supposed to wait to be seat or not. My cousin and I stood around for a few minutes before being informed that we could find our own table. We found a seat and of course we ordered Cass a Japanese beer that neither of us had yet tried. It had a great flavor that greatly accented the sushi. On our table was a list of different kinds of sushi that you can order al la carte. We ordered a few rolls off of the list opting to try the Eel, Squid and Salmon with our dinners. I had a teriyaki dish with more sushi and of course more beer. As my cousin and I piled on the Wasahbi (I hope that's how you spell it.) we laughed and talked as he fumbled with his chop sticks. It is a cool place to go with friends to hang out drink a few and have some good food. When we left we were both full and still laughing. I can whole heatedly recommend dinner here.

I have since been back to Shogun for a Large Cass and a few new rolls. I have had Spider Roll, Fire Roll , Alaskan Roll and Dragon Roll. Trust me when you in to mood for some good shushi and a beer trust me hit up Shogun.

A few afternoons ago my cousin and I decided to go out for a late breakfast so we went over to the Broiler. More often then not we are there having a few drinks usually in the center of a group of old and new friends. This time was only different becasue it was just the two of us. I had a 2.99 breakfast with Biscuts and Gravy served with Hash browns. It was great, the biscuts where coated in gravy and the hash browns where hot and crisp. To chase it down we had Bloody Mary's and a Russian Quaalude it was a nice lazy afternoon.
