Leopardstar is an unusually spotted golden tabby she-cat with green eyes and a fierce, powerful, and commanding presence. Her appearance is the reason for the "Golden" in this site's name, while her fierce nature is the reason for the "Ferocity".
Leopardstar is a very powerful cat. She is a tremendous fighter, brave, tough, cool, authoritive, and extremely loyal to her Clan. She also has a fierce and commanding presence and is very ambitious and proud.
We are first introduced to Leopardstar (then Leopardfur) in Fire and Ice as the new deputy of RiverClan. She was deputy before then, of course, ever since Oakheart died, but unfortunately we don't get to see this tough she-cat until the second book of the series. Luckily, though, in Fire and Ice, and in most of the books that come after it, Leopardstar makes multiple appearances.
In Fire and Ice, she leads a patrol that attacks Fireheart, Graystripe and some WindClan cats when they try to enter ThunderClan territory through RiverClan territory. In the battle that ensues, Graystripe accidently causes Whiteclaw to fall into the gorge to his death. Leopardfur becomes very angry about this, probably because Whiteclaw was once her apprentice, so she vows revenge.
Later in Fire and Ice, Leopardfur makes another appearance when she fights with Fireheart during a battle where RiverClan and ShadowClan were fighting against WindClan and ThunderClan.
In Forest of Secrets, Leopardfur leads the patrol that meets Fireheart and Graystripe when they try to return the RiverClan kits they rescued. Later, after Silverstream dies giving birth, Leopardfur comes into the ThunderClan camp and demands the kits, causing Graystripe to join RiverClan with them.
In Rising Storm, it becomes apparent that Leopardfur does not trust Graystripe at all, probably because she still blames him for Whiteclaw's death (and later, it turns out she was right not to trust him). Also in Rising Storm, she leads a patrol of cats that rescues ThunderClan when they flee from the fire that ravages their camp. However, Leopardfur probably does this not out so much out of kindness, but because she wants ThunderClan to owe her Clan.
In A Dangerous Path, Crookedstar, the RiverClan leader, becomes ill, and Leopardfur meets with Tigerstar several times. Soon, Crookedstar dies, and Leopardfur becomes Leopardstar, the leader of RiverClan, and decides to try and take Sunningrocks from ThunderClan. Her Clan's attack fails, however, and to top it all off, Graystripe betrays RiverClan and returns to ThunderClan.
In The Darkest Hour, Leopardstar joins her Clan with Tigerstar's to create TigerClan. Soon, however, she comes to regret her choice, and when Tigerstar is killed, she joins her Clan with the other forest Clans to help fight off BloodClan.
In Midnight, Leopardstar defends her choice to allow Mothwing, who was born a rouge, to become a medicine cat apprentice.
In Dawn, when Leopardstar is first told about what Midnight said, she refuses to take her Clan and leave the forest. She says that her Clan still have plenty of prey and no Twolegs on their territory, and the other Clans' problem aren't her concern. However, when ShadowClan's camp is destroyed, Leopardstar changes her mind. She sends cats to help ShadowClan evacuate their camp, and she agrees to leave the forest with the other Clans.
Later in the book, when Stormfur announces that he is staying with the Tribe, Leopardstar tells him that RiverClan will miss his courage and skill, but that she respects his decision and wishes him well.
In Sunset, when Stormfur returns to RiverClan with his mate Brook, Leopardstar accepts them both back into her Clan. However, Hawkfrost doesn't like this at all, so he tries to turn RiverClan against Stormfur and Brook. He secretly makes his sister Mothwing tell everyone at a Gathering that she had a dream that suggested Stormfur and Brook should not be allowed to stay in RiverClan. She doesn't sound very sure, though, which annoys Leopardstar because she doesn't want her Clan to look weak in front of the other Clans.
However, despite Mothwing's lack of conviction, Hawkfrost finally does manage to get Stormfur and Brook kicked out of RiverClan by tricking Stormfur into attacking him. After the other RiverClanners pull them apart, Leopardstar says that since Stormfur attacked a Clanmate, he obviously has forgotten what the warrior code means, and he and his mate can no longer stay in RiverClan.
In The Sight, when Graystripe returns, Leopardstar is one of the first cats to welcome him back. This shows that she is over her grudge with him at last.
Later in The Sight, though, after all of the Clans suffered a hard winter, Leopardstar and Blackstar blame ThunderClan for taking in too many kittypets and causing StarClan to punish all of the Clans. However, thay don't press the accusations that much, since Squirrelflight comes up with the Day Gathering idea and distracts everyone from their anger, at least for now.
