Golden Apple Preschool is located on a farm setting of 1 1/2 acres in a little school house. We provide a blend of Waldorf and Piaget learning activities, so the child will learn in a healthy, creative, loving, and relaxed way. We have a variety of fun and interesting things to do at our school.
These include: DAILY SCHEDULE- Inside explore time
- Breakfast Snack- organic oatmeal, eggs, toast etc.
- Library time- quiet book time then teacher reads a story
- Circle time- Music, Poetry, instruments, & Dancing with guitar.
- Art and Cooking time
- Outside Time- for Usually 1 to 1 1/2 hours
- Rest time- Story recited to children by memory
- Lunch - Organic foods & grains
- Good bye circle time
MUSIC
We sing a variety of world music, in English and other languages (especially Spanish)
Instrumental music; which includes many kinds of percussion instruments as well as Orff instruments (xylophone and bells)
Dancing with Guitar Playing and singing
Songs sung all day during transition times and play
POETRY
Poems are recited that are about a weekly topic or just for fun. Poetry teaches rhythm, rhyme, expression, and increases the child's vocabulary.
ART
Bread, wax, and clay shaping
Water color painting and other paints
recycled art (relating to a special topic) Caterpillars egg cartons etc.
Drawing with crayons, pencils and chalk.
STORYTELLING
Stories read during the week around a topic (nature, friendship etc.)
Memorized story recited to children at rest time (changes weekly).
Drama told by children and teacher in class & for parents during special seasonal gatherings (Easter,Winter holidays etc.)
PLAY
"Play imbues the child with the power of imagination and teaches them how to live the creative life", (H.B. Crecelius) The children interact and play with loving guidance, every morning using their social skills and imagination. Then later they go outside to explore on our spacious school yard & farm, using their large motor skills as well.
HELPING ACTIVITIES
Feeding the sheep,
Planting a garden
Cleaning our room together
Cooking soup, bread etc.
PARENT MEETINGS
Every third month we gather together to discuss childhood development and just get to know each other better! A topic is usually presented.

MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY 8:30 TO 2:00 OR 3:00
