Going to Serve was
formed by Dave and Shauna Goode, veteran missionaries to Jamaica who
are now living in Ohio and desiring to share their love for Jamaica and
the beautiful people with you!
We were a typical young pastoral family until we were invited to
participate in short term mission teams. Our lives were changed
forever and we felt the distinct call of God to be involved full time
in missions! Our hearts were in Jamiaca and God opened the doors
for us to serve there full time as pastor and also working with short
term mission teams.
Our hearts are still in Jamaica and we are blessed to have the
opportunity to share our love for missions and the people of "our"
country with others.
Dave is a recorded (ordained) minister in the Evangelical Friends
Church - Eastern Region and has served as pastor of three churches in
Ohio prior to service in Jamaica. In Jamaica, Dave was pastor of
the Highgate Friends Meeting (affiliated with Friends United Meeting)
and served as Field Director for two short term mission orgnizations.
Dave holds the A.A.S. degree in Sales and Merchandising from The
University of Akron, a B.A. in Psychology from Malone College and the
M.Div. from Asbury Theological Seminary.
Shauna has focused her ministry on raising our three children and has
been a valuable asset to the ministries as pastor's wife and assisted
in leading many short term teams.
The Goodes have three children, Mandy, Matt and Mikayla, all residing at home.
Our desire is to provide youth groups, college students, adults,
families with a positive mission experience that will impact their
lives, thier relationship to Christ, their church, their world view in
a powerful way.
